Best in-pocket for snubbie

Kramer for me.

I don't know if the other holsters metioned allow you to re-holster one handed. The Kramer does, and it stays put when you draw.

Emory

The Mika's also allow easy one handed holstering.
Actually, thanks to the top insert I mentioned in post #3 of this thread, if you were holding the Mika in one hand
and put the gun in it with the other you can simply let the gun go once you get it started and it will literally fall in the holster.

Below you will see a close-up of the area of this top insert, which you can see the outline of through the outer layer if you look closely.
This insert basically does the same thing you would if you took an end opening envelope and squeezed
it from the sides in order to get it to pop / splay open. It's like it serves as a second hand down in your pocket.

The first time I got my hands on a Mika Pocket Holster I immediately
noticed the insert and the role it played in making this design so effective.

P.S. I'll more than likely be adding this picture and last part of this post to post #3.
I say this in order to keep the subsequent posts between the two in context.

Guess I'm the only one that likes the Remora? It's of a different material then the ones you are showing. You can't pull the holster, itself, out of your pocket without turning your pocket inside out. Needless to say, it stays in your pocket when you draw.
With THAT said, it really is just as good for IWB, so you don't need a separate holster for that. Just stays stuck between the waistband and your side without clips/snaps.

Remora's exterior is crazy sticky. And its $30. I do want to try a mikas sometime though.

There are basically three popular ones....

1) DeSantis Nemises
2) Uncle Mikes
3) Mika's

All mentioned here, and they are so inexpensive you can try all three to see which one you prefer.

These are all soft side holsters. I like the Safari because it is a hard-side holster and will not conform to the shape of the gun. I think it hides the silhouette better. I can get my full hand grip on the gun (except for the trigger finger) before I start to take the weapon from the holster. A good point to consider.

Redzoom,

I agree with the others concerning fabric holsters being more desirable than leather. One other thing, make sure your holster is the type that has the bottom sewn closed. If the muzzle protrudes even a little you will eventually have a hole in your britches pocket and a scrape on your leg.

I've tried the leather holsters and the Nemisis. I have two Uncle Mikes for my j-frames and two more for a P32 and 21A. They work great. Actually it's working great right now as I type.

As mentioned the Mika is a good choice. I have the Mika roundcut for my 642 and recommend it. It also works with my glock27 the very few times I carried it in my pocket. The nemesis is good too.

I picked up an Uncle Mike's #3 yesterday and it seems too small. I'm going to take it back and just use my SOF Tuck IWB for in pocket carry since it'll be in a large jacket pocket. Most of the time I'll just carry IWB either with the SOF Tuck or with the Hip Grips that I'm getting.

Or you can use this "pocket stabilizer" from Garritys Gunleather.
Great for coat pocket carry.

I have a Safariland holster. It has a thin layer rough out leather(cow hide?) on the outside, and a sort of patent leather on the inside (which may be synthetic). They seem to be sewn over a plastic molded piece. It conforms to the shape of the gun on the inner side but is smooth on the outer side. The gun pulls freely all the time and reholsters in the pocket easily. It never comes out of the pocket when I draw.

I think the plastic inner layer (if that is what it is) is an advantage. It has not shown any inclination to conform to the shape of the gun (doing so would increase the resistance to being withdrawn from the holster).

I am happy with this. It was available from stock--no waiting. And about $25.00 delivered.

Model 25 Inside-the-Pocket holster for revolvers. Available in left or right hand; also available for Kahr, Ruger, and Kel-Tec small autos.

I carry my J-frames in this holster. The suede holds the holster in the pocket securely and the smooth inner lining (synthetic material) doesn't restrict the draw. The shape is smooth and rounded so the gun doesn't print.

I like Mica too. I carry a 49 and/or a 649 in my pocket every day. Either a jeans pocket or uniform pants pocket or suit pants pocket. I have no need to holster one-handed after I draw. I wanted a holster to keep the front sight blade from putting holes in my pocket. I don't care about "printing". I've been carrying my one and only Mica holster for about 5 years now, at least. It's not going to wear out anytime soon. One warning: The dye in the material will run and stain your pants if you fall into a river while fishing..

Man I like that is it legal can I get one I don't see it listed on their website
According to Mark, it is. Shoot him an e-mail. He will make one for you. You may want him to modify it , to have the ability to reload. The spot where the ejector rod sits needs to be cut out.

642 in an Uncle Mikes holster.

Most of the time the wife doesn't even realize I have it in my pocket.

I found the Uncle Mikes holster to tend to want to slip out of my pocket on the draw.
