I have my carry permit for MA and my plan was to purchase a compact like a M&P 9C or a Sig 239 but with the economy the way it is money being tight I am thinking about putting my Sigma SW9VE into service so I was wondering if some of you that carry there Sigma could chime in is the Sigma just to large for the CC role or does it work out? I figure the 9VE is more like a mid size in length it is a little thick though. Also can some of you post some good ideas for cary rigs?

I carry a 9 mm SD which is the same size as the Sigma so I don't think it to large to carry. I am using a Galco SKYOPS holster for the XD as my IWB holster.

I have no problem whatsoever carrying a Sigma IWB in a Remora holster. I find the Remora to be inexpensive and to work perfectly well at holding and protecting the gun - like the Sigma, it's not pretty, but it works. (I have Remoras for almost all of my carry guns.)

The Sigma was pretty seriously modeled after the Glock 19, and when the Glock 19 came out it was considered a marvel of a compact gun for concealed carry.

Your SW9VE is considered a compact firearm, comparable in size to a Glock 19. With the right belt and holster, it will conceal just as well as anything else.

And +1 on the Remora.

I carry everyday, and use a Don Hume JT slide OWB leather holster...works fine for me.....

I too am saving for a M&P9c, just to make it alitter easier to conceal in the summer, then the sigma will get a light on it and stay at the bedside...

That'll work! :)

i carry my sigma .40 in a crossbreed supertuck it shares duty with my SD9 i have no trouble concealing :D

I use a Fobus paddle it does stick out and feels bulky at times. My neighbor is making me a custom leather holster to pull the gun in tighter to my side. BTW I'm too fat for a IWB holster.

Just got a sigma couple of weeks ago, previously was carrying Taurus PT609 pro (3.25 in barrel); wondered how the sigma would carry. Even with a (cheap) Uncle Mike's type nylon IWB, it seems to wear just fine. Took Taurus' place so far.

I usually carry my SW40VE in a Blackhawk IWB hoslter ($9 at CTD), although I sometimes carry it in a Fobus paddle. The paddle is a little bulkier but still pretty easy to conceal. My wife and kids even forget I'm carrying. You shouldn't have any trouble concealing your Sigma, it really is nice and compact.

My SW40VE was my first CCW gun and I carried it for months. You can conceal a sawed off shotgun if you plan for it. That said, a full size semi-auto conceals for me best with a slight forward cant in the 4 o'clock position. Any holster that hides the grip and holds the gun close to the body can be concealed. I mostly carry the Ruger SR9c but in cold weather, I like to carry the Sigma. Love the gun.

Great info in this thread. I'm looking for a better holster for my Sigma for everyday carry. Currently using a cheapo nylon one that I don't like at all. (OWB that I carry on my left hip).
Thanks for the suggestions!

i carry mine everyday right on my hip, sometimes just behind my hip and it works great... i dont use a holster, and it never moves around. but i dont plan on getting a versacarry clip... if you havent seen them check it out, i think it will work better than a holster. i had a cheap iwb holster and i didn't like it thats why i dont use a holster at the moment

Swockster, I think Don Hume has the best quality for the money of any of the makers out there.

And the price is right too!

I dislike the plastic and nylon. When the welting on the edges of nylon or cordura holsters wears, there are sharp edges that get very annoying.

I tried a Fobus and a Blackhawk that my buddies have. Tough to draw from. Good retention, but not smooth.

The reinforcement at the top of these allow for easy reholstering. A big plus on a IWB holster.
