While I actually do not own an M&P, I have run about 1500 rounds through a M&P9. I like the gun, but the mag release was one of the few things I thought could use some improving. The raised ridge just aft of the mag release would sometimes hinder a quick mag change for me. I think the extended mag release has a place for some. It does seem a little price high for such a small polymer part.

i doubt it. Costa preaches the over-the-top-pull-back-the-slide-to-reload technique cause its used in clearing malfunctions. muscle memory and all that jazz....

i can see where it would benefit shooters with small hands that have to break their grip to hit the mag release.

Not everyone has grizzly paws. Dude at work has hands smaller than a girl. I tell him that it is all relative to include his size 6 shoes.

True, there are always personal preferences/needs for gear.

I was hoping someone would come out with one of these. I could make one from a piece of steel rod, some grinders and a file, but that would take a couple days, and I didnt want to mess with it.

I have one on my M&P Pro. I have not taken it to the range yet (I will tomorrow) but so far I like it when running dry fire/snap cap drills. The funny thing is, I have BIG *** hands, but small thumbs (and yes, I do get cr@p about it from my friends) I've had to break grip more then I would like when using the normal mag release. I still have to roll a little with the new release, but it's much better.
