I woke up this morning, got ready, and left the house for work... I noticed that my car gas light had just came on as I was pulling away from my house.

I was in a bit of a hurry so I figured I'd wait to get closer to work... I'm pulling up to the gas station in Boca Raton where I work and the 87 Octane unleaded is $4.09 per gallon if paid in cash. $4.15 for card....

It literally made me nauseous! I think I'm going to try to make it further south towards my house to save $0.10, either that or go to walmart and buy a bicycle!

What is gas like where you guys live!?

Gas always goes up during basketball season. I have to chase my granddaughter's basketball team all over the state for games. This isnt a small state, some games are over 300 miles away.

But I'd rather go broke paying for gas the miss one of her games.

gas prices here in western NY hit 4.00 per gallon also. Thats our elected official, allowing us to be raped again.
Our oil being sold to Japan and China and we pay for the high priced OPEC oil.
I don't see Obama or anyone else doing anything about it.

A lot of people say we should use our reserves to get the price down, but if I understood what I read correctly, the U.S. has only 2% of the reserve oil in the world, and the U.S. uses 25% of the world's oil. Even if we started drilling more wells, it would take years before it would do any good.

I still think we should charge OPEC the same price for a bushel of wheat as they charge us for a barrel of oil, but I don't know if that would do any good either.

The best price I've seen for regular in the last week was $3.65 at a Sunoco station in a small town. Too bad I had a full tank at the time.

$3.75 to $3.85 seems to be the norm in Metro Detroit.

Edit to add: DO NOT turn this into a political thread.

Fair warning...

But I have good news on this! Gas stations will now be allowed to offer, to those with good credit, 15 year fixed rate terms. Those with a few credit dings will not be left out, a 30 year ARM will be available.

This, of course, only applies if you fill the tank.

3.79 to 3.91 in South Western Maine. It does not pay to drive around, just pull in when you need it and take your beating.

:D Hmmm I haven't even thought of that.

I just fill up about 20 minutes ago and it was $3.57. My wife says just be glad you got the money to pay for it. Dang it, she seems to be always right. :o Don

$4.09 out here at the far west coast of WA.
The part I don't understand is that our gas is delivered from about 25 miles away (Down a two-lane road), but the gas in the town where the wholesaler is located is at $4.12:confused::confused:

$3.59 here in the middle of the West Texas oil patch. The closest refinery is about four miles from my house.

Crossed the state line to fill up in VA last night: $3.79. In WV, it was $3.95. Higher fuel taxes here in the Mountain State.

Gas prices make no sense to me (but apparently make lotsa cents for petrol companies). Demand is as low as it has been since 1997. At that time I was living in KY and paying $0.97/gallon. Supply is as high as it has been since 2003 when the national average per gallon was about $1.97. Clearly, prices do not reflect actual supply/demand, so what causes the increase at the pump? Futures? Speculators? Regulators? Refineries? I dunno, but every extra dollar we spend on fuel is one less dollar going into other sectors of the economy. Contraction in consumer spending is not what the nation's economy needs. Not good, not good at all....

I am skipping my range time this week 'cause the wife and I spent too much $$ on fuel and there isn't enough cash left for my ammo and fees. Must have gas to go to work and gotta cut somewhere....
