625 - 4" (started life as a 5"). Shortened barrel with new crown. Interchangeable front sight with Millett rear. SDM cut checkered cylinder release and a set of Jerry M's nice grips. It's amongst my most likes S&W revolvers I have ever owned or fired.
Lou NC bought the gun that way thats a Mepro front and rear night sight comb, Really work good at night or dark situations, for me though at this stage of the game, can't quite focus on the front sight during daylight conditions. Thinking about a gold bead up front.
I love the round and own 3 1911's and pack a Colt Commander. It's utterly accurate and so far has been 100% reliable as I had it worked over for function and reliability by my old friend J.D. Jones from SSK Industries. He does great work and if you have a Thompson Contender his .375 JDJ round and barrel works on any animal in North America. Took a nice Roosevelt elk with it up on Rasberry Island, Ak. and it went down with one shot to the shoulder years ago. With a ported barrel recoil is not bad. Off the subject, sorry.
My Springer .45 was accurized for Bulleye matches and will shoot a .75 group at 25 yards all day. What kind of accuracy can I expect for this round and revolver in the 5" non IL version? I shot a friends 6" and was not impressed with it's accuracy with WWB ammo. Should have tried some of my reloads as I'm sure it would shoot much better with the right load.
I really need one of the .45 revolvers as I have TONS of .45 ammo, but no revolver. Been looking for a 3", but just might go with the longer 5" lugged barrel as these babies look cool and the 3" versions are priced to high for me.
