You got a good deal on a great pistol. Once you take it too the range and run it through it's paces you will see why. They carry great too. The only thing I did to mine was put a strip of grip tape on the frontstrap. The mags with the pinkey extension are nice too.

yeah i know they are great gun... ive had a 6904 that i bought nib 20 some years ago....cant beat it... so ive been on the look out for 3913-3914-908..esp for carry.... found a 3914 last month for 385 out the door... then when i saw the 908 yesterday, the dealer was asking 349... we settled on 300 out the door...i thought that was a great deal for me... i about p*** my pants...:D

That's a great price on an excellent little gun. I paid just a little less for mine and it was not in near as nice of condition. I am confident I got a very good deal, so yours must have been a steal! I may have to report you to the authorities. :)

Wow. What a great price on a super little carry gun. Ya did well !

"just curious as to why you like the 908 better?"

I actually liked the flat top slide on the 908 better than the rounded top of the 3913. The 908 was slimmer due to a single safety lever, and it felt lighter to me. I swapped the 3913 to a forum member in Florida for a Glock 17.

I had two S&W #908's, let my brother talk me out of the nicer one on the right.

I had to run down to the safe and check, and sure enough (based solely on feel) the 908 does feel a little lighter in the hand than the 3913/14. But I think that the unloaded specs are within 1oz of each other so it may just be my mind playing tricks on me. Of course I am in the process of swapping out all the plastic parts in my 908 for metal, so that oz is going to disappear.

did you get a metal guiderod made for the 3913/3914 to fit the 908 and where did you get it.

Picked up a 908 at the Greensboro gun show in January for the same price for my wife. Came with 3 mags and case. I got a metal guide rod from Midway USA. Seems like a great little gun. We are waiting for CT laser grips now. Grips are coming from John in Texas from here on the forum.
