Jane Fonda to play Nancy Reagan in new movie!

Clearly, the directors/producers aren't casting her for her acting talent,
unless one considers her film "Barbarella" to be film noir (which would be like comparing the "Mona Lisa" to a painting rendered by a chimp smearing paint on a canvas with his posterior) ..............................

Exception!

Surely my cousins could exhibit more talent, yea, even class, with their posteriors.

(all in jest ;))

I saw this article a while ago on the Drudge report (A link to Variety Magazine) and after reading it, ran quickly to the bottom of the article to post a commnent, but there was no comment option. Wonder why ???
I think if they do put jane in there as her,Nancy should have the basis for a good Law Suite.

It is so ridiculous that it is funny. I will bet that this movie will be a huge flop. and whoever made the casting decisions will be parking cars some place. Too bad Stan Laural and Oliver Hardy are gone. They could have been cast as Henry Kissinger and Spiro Agnew. How about Michael Moore as J. Edgar Hoover?

I wonder if they are trying to one-up the movie The Help, which while it seemed to irritate certain groups I thought was well done. Or more likely given the casting a parody of Back Stairs at the Whitehouse. It's not like Hollywood can do anything original these days.

Sounds to me like the producers wanted buzz on the street.

Who is still protesting the Digital Millenium Copyright Act and won't see a movie. Well, my wife will drag me to "The Hobbitt."

I don't remember Nancy shooting an AA gun, but maybe she did, and they needed someone with experience??

That is simply perverse.
Stay off politics so we don't lock 'er down.
I hate to deprive folks of an opportunity to bash Janey.
Jane was pretty cute, and still looks good for a woman her age, but I doubt that she's smart enough to operate even a Chinese copy of a Soviet copy of a Bofors gun. She sat in the gunner's seat, but I doubt she could aim it, much less shoot it.

Boy, you guys really don't like her do you -:)

I predict the movie will win all kinds of awards (even though no one will go see it).

BTW, is there a time limit on arresting someone for Treason? Maybe she could be arrested as a Terrorist.

Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen any of her movies (on purpose), or could even name one. If it wasn't for her marriage to Ted Turner she would have passed into oblivion like other infamous traitors.

Who's playing Ronnie? David Spade? Owen Wilson? Ellen DeGeneres?

Jane should be sitting in a cell and long forgotten - But Nooooooooo

Surprised they didn't try to get John Hinkley Jr. to play Ronnie! This makes me want to pluck my eyebrows out and pull my own wisdom teeth. What a slap in the face!

Pure and simple, it is an affront to the Reagans from Hollywood.
Meant to belittle and insult Nancy. Nothing is real in Hollywood.
Reality is whatever they dreamed last night.

I am sure the film will be PC, based on a true story, 5% truth.

The only thing I'd like to see JF play in is a very busy street. At night, while dressed up in a black ninja outfit. That famous photo of her on the ZSU still makes me sick just to think about it.

Regards,

Dave

I once ask a lawyer with the Justice Dept. why they never tried her for treason, according to him it was simple, it was never a declared war, the statute didn't apply. Of course the last declared war was WW2, only "police actions" and training missions, peace keeping etc., ever since ....another part of the Constitution the politicians ignore....
