Fifty years ago revolvers and gun magazines looked like this...

... a Mod 17 on top and a Mod 14-1 on the bottom.

I thought I'd post up two birth year guns on my birth-day! :D

Happy birthday! And 50 years ago, both the guns and the magazines were orders of magnitude better than in the present day. Quality that isn't widely appreciated today, for sure.

Happy Birthday! Birth year revolvers, I was born in 1942 so I have not been able to find mine yet. I just keep buying anyway. I dream of the old Guns and Ammo. I look at the magazine rack just hoping, but thay are just not the same.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

That is cool. Revolvers from your birth year. I gave up looking myself. You would think a model 29 from 1956 would be kinda easy...not so. lol.:D

Have a great birthday. Nice photo, I sure miss old Skeeter Skelton in Shooting Times.

Happy Birthday.

50 huh? Welcome to the adult portion of your life. Haha.

Order a gun from the Performance Center and even the best still ain't what you could get at any hardware store, 50 years ago.

I'm 59 and here are some ads from 1952. Ooooooo, the quality!

Happy Birthday GF. Hope all the blue is still on the high points with very little muzzle wear.

Regards

Hey Suckersrus, I remember Kleins in Chicago, as a kid in the 1950's I just loved looking at all the guns. I guess I'm giving away my age, 66.

I'm just turning 60 this year and I miss the old magazines nothing today compares to them, or the writers that were featured in them. And the quality of the handguns couldn't be beat. Although there are lots of nice high end handguns now. The old smith revolvers will never be equaled for sure nothing they are putting out now can compare.

Happy Birthday. If I ever see fifty again, it'll have a "one" in front of it.
