Local gunstore had the M&P22 on sale for $350. Was on the fence whether I needed another 22, but left with one as soon as I had a chance to handle it. Feels just like my full size M&P. Accurate with the bulk Rem HPs I had on hand. Been to the range twice with it and no malfunctions to date. The trigger pull is a little heavy for my taste, but manageable. Fit and finish seem to be very good for the price. Did notice the barrel seems to be sleeved vs solid stock. Not sure that makes any difference other than probably being cheaper to make. The thumb safety is obviously a different design than the centerfire M&Ps, not that it matters. My only complaints being it only came with one magazine and the trigger pull.

The barrel is threaded for a suppressor should you decide to get one. That is what the little silver wrench is there for. BTW, $350 is a very good price, especially for a gun in short supply.

I purchased mine this week for $369.00. They received a new one for stock this past Wednesday, the 18th.

I was between getting the Sig Sauer Mosquito or the M&P 22. I already knew about the Mosquito's picky appetite and heavy trigger pull, but I loved the feel of it in my hand. However, I read most every place I could find on the M&P and found nothing but good things said about it. I am a happy camper with my new M&P22. This is a perfect camping gun to boot. :>)

Bought one today from a local gun shop for $365.00 I too was impressed with the overall quality and the threaded barrel is a plus. I know of guys are buying this for training to $ave on $$ and ammo. I found here on this forum about contacting S&W CS to replace the rear sight which has been updated. Mine is black and they are sending me a two dot rear sight free.

The M&P22 is a very decent 22 semiauto pistol. Walther built it to Smith & Wesson specifications and for the price the build quality is quite high. I have a little over 2000 rounds thru mine now and this pistol is very reliable and surprisingly accurate. The trigger has smoothed out considerably with use and the M&P is a joy to shoot.

The barrel is threaded but You need to pick up the threaded adapter to attach a suppressor to it. I used the gemtech adapter to attach my AAC pilot II.

I just purchased a M&P22 this afternoon. I have been hearing good things about it and thought why not. It will go to the range tomorrow afternoon with me. I tend to shoot much more .22 than centerfire. This will be my first exposure to the S&W M&P line of pistols.

My last .22 purchase was a SIG1911-22. It has become my most popular range gun. We'll see if the M&P22 can upstage it.

You will loved shooting it...I have the mp22 and mp40 fullsize...I loved shooting them when I'm at the range.

Like many of you, I have added the "Little Brother" M&P 22 to my small collection of M&Ps. Have only taken it to the range once and enjoyed firing it. My problem is that I pulled a dumb*** trick and cleaned it outside on the patio. While reassembling it, the recoil spring took off like an early Polaris missile and I wasn't able to find it. Sent an email to S&W and got a quick reply (with promise to send me one) but after over two weeks, I haven't received it. Does anyone know another source for the spring? I have a feeling that S&W rushed a little to get the gun on the market and Walther hasn't produced many replacement parts.

Springs for SMITH & WESSON NUMBERED SERIES Semi-Auto Pistols

About a 1/4 of the way down on that page.

Mine came with two. I would call S&W and let them know. Someone snatched one, and maybe why you paid only $350.00

Thanks for the warning about the spring taking flight.

I got my M&P22 today, cleaned it, and took it to the range. I had several FTE using American Eagle 40 grain ammo. Is this typical of a break in period or an ammo issue?

I think it's a combination of break-in and ammo. I shot mine for the first time last week. I began with 100 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag, followed up by 300 rounds of Winchester 555 bulk. All problem free.

Well I went to town today to purchase a 9mm Shield. Everyone was out of stock, SO........I came home with the M&P22. Look forward to running some rounds threw it tomorrow. My first M&P pistol also and should go well with the M&P 15-22 I bought last month. I think the M&P bug has bit.:D

This is my first post on this forum because today I bought my first Smith & Wesson, an M&P22. Well, actually I did already have a Smith & Wesson, or at least the parts of one. My grandmother over 45 years ago gave me a Model 2 that her husband's father, my great-grandfather, had picked up on a Civil War battlefield and brought home. He was a Confederate sodier with the First Mississippi Infantry, or the Mississippi Rifles, even though he was a native of Ohio. But now I have a S&W that will shoot, and I look forward to shooting it for the first time tomorrow.

Oh sure, tease us with a Civil War handmedown and no pics. I think we all need a peak at this one. Pics Please! :)
