Well done!
The wife thinks that AR's look like killing machines and didn't want me to get one, so I bought a Ruger mini-14 and an ATI stock that I purchased directly from Ruger (it has a Ruger logo on it, I believe). Bought about half a dozen 20 round clips to go with it.

I got lucky and was able to get the M & P 15 first, the store had just received it that morning. Later after looking at S &W site I found the M & P 15-22 I wanted and called the family owned store I bought the 15 from and asked them to order that model and was told she just got off the phone and the exact model was due in two days from now so I bought it lol.
Curious; Why didn't you just get a .22lr conversion kit?
Wow, I had no idea you could use clips in a Mini-14. Are they en-bloc or stripper clips?

Have you seen the latest Glock sites? They're all the rage!![]()
Di you mean sights?![]()
Just guessing, but for me it was:
Convenience of having two rifles
Ease of use (no swapping BCG)
Correct twist rate for accuracy
No rimfire/blowback crud in the FCG
Functioning last round hold open/bolt release
etc.
