That's the exact reason I stopped buying from Sportsmansguide, the dates are always months away. I'd rather have it in my house than waiting for an order that may never come. Freedom comes packed so tight its hard to open sometimes, that means UPS can't open it and take what they want.

I may be the odd man out here but how are these good prices on reloads when I can get new ammo for about the same price? If there is shipping at all then the prices are higher than what I usually pay for my 9mm and 5.56 ammo. my usual 9mm ammo is 10 bucks and some change with free shipping on palmetto state armory right now, and my 5.56/223ammo is around the same price as theirs. I mean, dont get me wrong the pricing isnt bad its just not a spectacular deal or anything.

Ouch, shipping is 22 dollars here as well.

ok I just checked pametto and the only 5.56 xm193 Federal they currently have in stock is in 30 round boxes which are .43 each where I just paid .35 each with the shipping cost added in for xm193 reloads at freedom and at 8 cents a round x1000 I purchased saved me $ 80 without the shipping from freedom the cost is only .32 a round which is then .11 difference and a savings of $110.

My Walther prefers 124gr over 115 grain and I just checked Palmetto cause I can always use a good deal on barrel fodder but I still cant beat freedom, but if your pistol prefers 115gr brand new freedom is still cheaper than Palmetto State by 4 cents a box over the CCI but the free shipping makes it a pretty good deal. I wish my 9 would shoot 115 accurately!!!!

thats fine and dandy, but I dont get my 5.56 or 223 from palmetto. I was using them as an example on the 9mm ammo, and it literally was going to cost me 22 dollars to ship here and thats crazy. I buy PMC bronze 223 ammo at my LGS for around 6 dollars a box of 20when I buy in bulk, its got decent brass for my reloads and shoots fine. I also buy the lake city from Dicks sporting goods for 160 for 420 or 460 rounds (cant remember) and get an ammo can.

And yes I shoot 115 oneye it does fine in my xdm.

I wasnt ragging these guys or your alls choice to buy from them, just stating that with the shipping it isnt that good of a deal for me. Take care and shoot straight!

I couldn't help myself, I just ordered another 250 5.56 62gr. AP from Freedom. I haven't shoot the M&P for a month, just can't seem to get up to the range, but thought its better to stock up while its still around. I shoot trap every Sunday and maybe I'll get to the 2nd range for some AR fun tomorrow.

You guys are funny; buying 223/556 in less than bulk is a tough pill to swallow. I am still seeing new xm855 and 193 for about $169 for 480 on strippers, and about $340 per 1,000, boxed. If I am spending money on brass stuff (I do use some, and I always keep some because it will resist corrosion for years better than steel case.) If I am spending on brass, either I buy enough that I get a break in price, or I am buying a regular box for hunting.
A hint; Since money don't grow on trees, get a couple guys together and pool some money to buy ammo in bulk. Last week, we pooled 4 guys, and wound up getting enough to get a good break in price. If you have dealt with an ammo dealer for a couple of orders, they will know you, see your history, and yes, there is a substantial break once you hit a pretty good size order.
I'm still paying $220 per 1k WPA/ Wolf. On the last order, with a break for bulk, it was actually .18 per round.

thats............ not really a bulk buy is it? i consider bulk buying at least 2-5000 rounds at a time, thats when you really see a price break. and I think thats what the other poster was alluding to

If it takes a large group buy to beat freedom's price then that's not a real factor for the lone buyer, is it? I don't have a group of buddies that I can split the cost with, so buying the quantity of ammo I want, freedom is the price leader. And their reloads are every bit as good (or better) than XM193 ammo I'm shooting now so what's not to like?

I am like Bill, I dont have a group of buddies to buy ammo with, I have mentioned it on more than one occasion to the people I go shooting with and they him and ha but when I have the money and am ready to buy they arent. Then when they do show up to go shooting they have bought a couple of hundred rounds of AE or Tulammo, and thats what they have to go shooting that day. I like to keep a stash of bullets so that when I want to go I dont have to drive 45 miles one way to pick up some AE, Ram or Wolf, or pray that Wallyworld has something in stock so I buy 250 from Freedom when I can afford it. I now think I have enough that I can stay ahead of my reloading so am done buying most everything except .22lr and you just cant ever have enough of that. I guess its what you can afford and what you are doing that dictate what you buy, everyone is different but it seems we all try to have ammo on hand instead of purchasing for the day.

I don't know if there is a specific number that I would call bulk. Some stores list 300 as bulk others 500.
When I get the urge, I buy more. I like to keep 2000-2500 rounds of 5.56 as a back up, you can't tell a Zombie to come back after me and my neighbors can get together on a bulk buy.
My other calibers I have different amounts on hand, for my 22LR I have about 9,000, for my 9mm only 1500, Shotgun I go thru too quick shooting trap so I usually wait until I down to 2 cases (500 rounds) before I get more.

I haven't tried the Blaster yet, how does it shoot? I've been thinking my next purchase would be 500 of the Blaster.
Why is the .223 more expensive than the 5.56? Its only a couple dollars more in bulk, but I would have thought the 5.56 would be the more expensive. I mostly buy the 62 gr. 5.56 M855.

I think the demand is higher for the .223, from what I have read the 55gr xm193 is more accurate than the M855 but I dont know. I do know that there blaster ammo shoots nice and good accuracy for manufactured loads.

Ok I ordered 160 rounds of 308, 100 rounds of 45acp, 100 rounds of 9mm, 100 rounds of 45lc and shipping was $26 dollars. another order I had 40 308, 50 45lc 50 9mm and 50 45acp shipping was $14 to Kansas

hmm, wish I was a little closer to them! Thats what I was saying with my earlier posts, it really isnt that great of a deal for me with the shipping costs.

Saves about 4 cents a round over what I usually pay per 500 of commercial loads .223

This past Friday I played hookie with a friend from work...we took 1/2 days ("doctors appointment") in the morning and we went out to the outdoor range in Ridge here on Long Island.

He's been to this range many times before, me it was my first time. Sighted in my Sport with the new Nikon P223 scope at 50 yards using the Freedom ammo. The gun and scope worked great, Very nice combo.

One range officer who does lots of reloading asked me what I ammo was shooting. Seems the big BANG that happened each time I pulled the trigger, the huge flame out of the barrel and the brass flying over 10 feet...he thought it was a "hot" load. I didn't give it much thought and just kept enjoying myself.

I shot about 300 rounds and it didn't matter if I was on the 50 yard or 100 yard line...where ever I went people were just astounded at my gun and ammo.

Hard for me to compare as I'm a newbie with my Sport... I've only shot about 100 rounds of "Ultramax" reloads only once before at an indoor range.

The groups with the Freedom ammo where tight, every round when bang. I tried my fiends 8mm Mauser...he's into European historic WW2 rifles, man that has a kick! He shot a few clips of my Sport...he couldn't stop raving about how well the gun felt and shot...and he as blown away with the accuracy.

I don't know if the Freedom loads where "hot" or not but I was happy with the price and performance...I'll be back for more.

Freedom's 55g FMJ loads are all loaded to 3240 fps which is M193 level. If you had some Lake City ammo it would have been interesting to see if they would have heard a difference.
