Just picked up a 3913 yesterday from a lgs. Just happened to drive by the store and havent been in yet so decided to try it out. They had two very good condition 3913's and a nice 5906. I will post pics, camera's somewhere just don't remember yet. Going to call S&W tomorrow to see what the manufacturing date was. Also got original box and some paperwork. Serial # starts w/ VAT****

Congrats! Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 5906. BTW, do you remember what the price was on the 5906?

Congrats on a nice choice. I first got a 5906 for steel matches and later found a 3913 for my CCW. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

Congrats on the purchase of one of S&W's finest pistols. Just be careful, the 3913 and 3914 can get addicting.

So, is the only difference between the 3913 LadySmith and the others the color of the grips? How wrong is it that I'm a dude but think that the LadySmith with those gray grips looks totally awesome. Would it be incredibly gay if I wanted one?

No,thats not the only difference. It has much more of a taper than the standard 3913, the safety/decocker is only on one side, the trigger is a tiny bit better, the LS did come in black (3914) too.

I'm a LS fanatic

If you even have to ask the question you asked, your manhood is already in question. Real men cry, wear pink, and carry the LS.
However, real men seldom use the word "dude"

Your gonna love it. I have a 3914LS and it's my favorite carry piece.

The purists may not like it, but I put a set of Houge grips on mine. The hard plastic stock grips were just too slippery for me and the Houge grips were also a little fatter.

Hmm... Airmen now giving advice on manhood... Interesting.

JUST KIDDING! I'm not too good to not laugh at myself either (or say dude, after all, it was in a John Wayne movie). I've never known anyone that owned a 3913 yet, and wasn't aware of the LS till recently. I may have to try to find one for my wife... yeah... that's it. I'll claim it is for her and then just HAPPEN to be the one that uses it as daily CCW.

Dang, you took the wind out of my last jab. I was going to say, real men have a thicker skin. I'm glad you figured out I was funnin.

The 3913/14 is addicting.

Certainly! Ha ha. And of course I was too. I may tease among fellow service members/vets, but in reality I am thankful for them all and would never say those things seriously.

So far, my only S&W is a 6906, but I am pretty sure I'm already addicted to these 3rd gens. I can think of at least 3 that I want. That's not counting the other S&Ws I want. A 3913 (LS or not) is certainly near the top of the list.

Walked into another lgs today. They had a mint 3913NL for sale today. Right now I'm trying to justify that I need it

Update:
Took the 3913 to the range. 200rds wwb 115gr fmj and a few mags of HST 124+p. Flawless. I'm shooting a little low left, have to get used to the da/sa again.

A lot of us like the 3913 Ladysmith. It looks sharp, fits most hands (male or female) quite well, slides into a holster well with its sloped dust cover, is accurate and totally reliable. I personally consider it the best 9mm for discrete carry ever made by Smith.

The only objection (for us hairy-chested men) is the "Ladysmith" logo on the gun. Smith has made an identical gun without the logo, cataloged as the 3913NL (for No Logo). I snapped one of these up years ago, and it's a real peach. Here's a photo of mine. Other than equipping it with tritium night sights and polishing the feed ramp, it's pretty much stock.

Awesome. I was discovering about the NL model as you were writing this post and I posted a WTB in the ads forum just a minute ago. What do you think a fair price for one in good condition is right now?

I don't have a clue what today's values would be for this out-of-print gun. I bought mine factory new from a dealer in 1995 for $450. I suspect those that might still be available have held their value well, as there is plenty of demand for them. Probably best to check the internet auction sites for current going prices.

Thanks Paladin85020. I am definitely in the hunt. There are a few LGS/Pawn shops that I plan to start checking on a regular basis as well.
