Ok the official unveiling of my Home Made AR!! I just took her out in 108 degree heat and fired 20 rounds through her. SWEEEET!!!!!
She is built from the leftover parts of my Sport with some new parts and a New Frontier Lower, A no name 1-8 16" 5.56 barrel, a BCG that came from Precision Arms International, at least thats what the payment say it went to The upper, pistol grip, Buttstock assembly, gas tube, charging handle all came brand new on my sport, the rail is an Omega Tactical with firefield ladders, the removable front sight is NcStar and is a tall one so I had to put my Matech on a 1/2" riser. I have installed a CTR Magpul stock on my "CyberSport" and I like it. Also for you guys with the mesh bag brass catchers, if you turn them inside out for a couple of days it keeps them from collapsing when you are trying to use them. I took the pics together just a little bit ago...Talk about a Happy Camper!!:D

The excitement of pulling the trigger on your own build really lets you know you are well into stage three of the Evil Black Rifle Disease....the Comps are Jason Jones and the Green Paint is Krylon....:D
I guess I will have to build a .243 next!! LOL

I havent got her on a scale yet but she weighs nothing, the old (LOL what 6 months) CyberSport feels like a tank next to her. Still have to sight her in. but we will see what she will do.

You got a little more hardware on the Cyber , no wonder.
Hope you enjoy it more when the temps are more bearable, say mid-90s?

Grover didn't build a rifle out of spare parts... his 15-Sport asexually reproduced.

:D

Looking good. You're the first guy I know who actually used a pile of spare parts to make a whole new rifle.

Thanks John...I am kinda cheap that way....but she shoots great...the mrs wants a 3-9x40 on her but I am wanting to stay with Irons...after it cools off this evening (hopefully) I will go out and boresight her in. Last night it was over 90 at 10pm!!

"Frugal" fits better than cheap. Cheap has a negative connotation. I hope I didn't imply "cheap" in my post, because I try to be frugal myself. :D

I'm envious of you my friend. My parts bin can't support a full rifle...yet. I have sequentially numbered stripped lowers that are begging to be built.

I look forward to reading your range report, and wish you good shooting.
