Nothing is wrong with my rifle. It's just that the forest areas I've been target shooting at are closed during the fire season. I've been stocking up on ammo and I have about 9,000+ rounds ready to go. AGH!!!!

I guess I am going to have to find some ranges where I can blow off some steam. I just hate having to pay to have to shoot.

I will be checking out Burro Canyon and Lytle Creek in Southern California this weekend. I'd go out to the desert, but it's around 110-118+ degrees there during the summer.

Indoor range 8 minutes from my House... i drive 45minutes to the Arizona Desert to HAVE FUN

Its ALWAYS fire season here it seems...LOL was shooting Tuesday and had some PUFFED Lipo Batteries to shoot.. but to windy.... didnt want to start my OWN Desert fire.....

GET OUT AND SHOOT!!!

I decided to ditch the family today and I snuck out to the range in Lytle Creek. $14 entrance fee and $5 for a target wasn't too bad. The first group that were next to me were real nice. One of them even let me shoot their Mosin Nagant. Talk about an ugly rifle that I would like to buy and what a kick compared to my 15-22! I let him and his little kids shoot a couple of magazines on mine. The kids loved it and their dad said that he was going to the local gun shop to get one for his boys. Now, the second group consisted of yahoos that that the anti-gun crowd could use as poster children. They had no clue about gun safety at the range. They even had some illegal drum for their shotgun that one of them was using. I am glad I had enough ammo to outlast the 2nd group. Other than that, I had a great time shooting around 1,500 rounds by myself for a total cost, including range fees, of $68.

I am lucky to have a short 35 yard max range on my property because the outdoor gun ranges are private and there is a waiting list to join. The one public indoor range is just to much money an hour to make me want to drive there.
I am glad you could make it out. As an owner of a Mosin Nagant I wouldn't call them ugly but they sure have a kick. Loads of fun to shoot even if you think they are ugly and that is all that matters.

if there are any ranges on state property in your area they are usually dirt cheap compared to private indoor/outdoor ones.

around here it's the difference between like $5 an hour and $15-$30 per hour per person.

My outdoor range here is free..but not a real change..just an open that the locals go to shoot..looks like a trash dump imo with tons of shells everywhere haha

One range here is like $25 a year membership, i may join just for a.change od scenery from my house..

Friend of mine has a nagant, he has a custom trigger in it and custom thumb hole stock, i havent shot it since im a lefty

Experiencing similar problems here in UT. Live 20 min from a mountain range but due to local fires I have to drive 40+ min to an indoor range.

i left my mosin stock, and relish in the pain every time i shoot more than like 20 rounds :D it's supposed to leave a bruise after shooting all day.

Same here. I've tried to help clean it up a little, but it's a lost cause. As soon as you pick something up, the DAMF next to you trashes it again.

I've seen 80's televisions, dead dogs, old computers, and stacks of old tires. It still beats going to the small and expensive indoor range though.

I need to buy some property back home, or just move to Montana full time.

I pay 30.00 fees for membership in a Gun Club. Take my own targets, pick up my own brass, no "Range Officer" and I even harvest the lead for casting!

Poor you, wanna trade?

I can only shoot my gun at the range which is only open on tuesday and friday nights from 20.30 to 22.30.

Oh yeah and it costs me around $ 250 a year to be able to shoot there.
Long live stricks Dutch gun laws :(

Okay, I guess I don't have it as bad as you. The range I am going to use this summer is open 7 days a week from 0800-1600 and charges only $14 a day. BTW, my uncle lives in Wageningen.
