where to find the Shield?

My LGS, Town Police Supply, has 300 ordered that should be in this month. I'm guessing they will have the LE versions. Hopefully I can get one when they come in. First come, first served is their motto.

I was in there a couple weeks ago and they told me the same thing. Never said anything about 300 though.

I found the key to finding a Shield is persistence. I live in the Minneapolis/St Paul suburban area of MN. We have six or seven Gander Mountain stores in the metro and beyond. I found out they all receive gun shipments on Thurs. mornings. Every Thurs. afternoon I would call each store to see if they got any in. I found my .40 at a GM close to my house. A few weeks later I found a 9mm for my wife but had to drive 90minutes on way to get it.

The .40 and the 9mm handle very similar to one another. Basically identical hand feel and the 9mm has a little less recoil, as expected.

ive been looking high and low and i cannot find one anywhere close to me. CDA idaho

Call Impact Guns in Ogden Utah.

When they are in they sale for $399 and they are about 40 minutes form the Idaho Utah border. They also ship.

ive emailed and called them and they got nothing...sad part is CDA is right by the canadian boarder.lol

Cabelas must be getting some shipments in. When I got on the waiting list 2 months ago, there was about 40 people in front of me. They called on Monday and I picked it up yesterday.

I was on the waiting list at my LGS, with only 2 people ahead of me, and they never called, even after 2 months. Gander Mountain also never called and I was #10 on that list.

I picked up a Shield 40 today. Ordered it two days ago, and it's here today. Going to the gun club tomorrrow and break it in.

I'm trying to find a 9mm Shield in the Dayton,Ohio area with no luck,a couple LGS said keep calling weekly there on order!!

I live in Rockville, MD, and I'm on a number of waiting lists at dealers throughout the state for the 9mm. But today I put $100 down at my closest dealer to be added to his list and I'm number 3. No idea when anyone will get one in, but I'll be patient.

Sort of. This week, I picked up a Ruger LC9 just to hold me over; and I've been carrying around the house (since it's almost impossible for a regular civilian to get a conceal carry permit); hope to fire it tomorrow. I think I'm really going to like this Ruger. But I think the Shield in 9mm will be an even better fit, once I get my hands on one. :-)

That's what I did. I happen to call about two minutes after a Shield was dropped off. He was nice enough to hold it for me despite a dozen other calls later in the day.

you can find them pretty easily on the web at smaller gun stores, but you have to be willing to pay the shipping and transfer fee. I just got mine for $450 shipped, but had to pay a transfer and paperwork fee. total out the door was a little under $500, which I was pretty happy with.

Also, the 40 is much easier to find than the 9, but YMMV

i posted a link in the other shield supply thread that had about 11 instock shield 40s the other day...

These are as hard to find as Bigfoot.
Sightings everywhere, but when others go to look long gone.

Available everywhere in Florida....Until I call the specific every-wheres, then nope, sold out days prior, or have been on order for several weeks now with no ETA.

Thanks for posting the link to Montana dealer in other thread on the 7th. By the time I called them a couple hours later that same day, they were down to 3 left when I bought mine. Another dealer posted in that thread that they had them in stock, and even though I already placed my order, a look at the new listing showed sold out as well.

Good luck in the hunt. There is a reason dealers are selling these for $550+ ($100+ premium over list price) on gun broker type sites. They can since there is no supply.

No problem man! Honestly, finding one is kind of blind luck. I find that certain states seem to have them. Florida, Georgia, Montana, to name a few. I googled a list of gun shops in MT and started calling down the list. The second place I called had a shield 9 and now it's mine. If you look hard enough, you will find one...but not at the big, well known websites and stores...

I have been to local shows for last two months, and always walked across the Shield in both cal. sitting on the table for $400.00, and in lot of cases they would only deal with no taxes and free transfer fee.
I guess you might start looking into gun shows.
Also I bought mine from Gallery of Guns, way cheap. I ordered it on Monday night, and on Wednesday was shooting at the range.
I would check them out.

I have been checking Buds Police Supply a few times a day hoping to get lucky. Just now I found a 40 in stock and ordered it! I am very happy about $349 shipped.

FWIW, Bud's and Gallery of Guns are now showing zero stock on Shields. What was the Gallery's price on the Shield you ordered?

FINALLY!!! i found one in a shop in Montana and shes sitting on my desk now. so glad my hunt is over.
