James Bond with a revolver

Bond using a Model 10? Come now, he's using a Military and Police in .380 Revolver, or, if you prefer, 38 S&W.

Yes he used a model 10 S&W in the movie Die another day. Raul a sleeper agent in Cuba gave Bond a model 10 HB S&W for kill Zao who was hide in the island. Bond was no part of the secrete service in this moment because he scape when he was arrested.

As stated earlier, Roger Moore (as Bond) used a 29 at the end of Live and Let Die. I noticed the James Bond book/magazine at the grocery store checkout stand last week, and found it amusing that the cover was a photo of Sean Connery holding a single shot air pistol (pretty sure it was a Finewerkbrau). Definitely an oversized gun, and a .177 BB was even less potent than the .25 Beretta!

You know... I never much cared for James Bond... book nor movie..... Not sure why. I did however think that Austin Powers was every bit as believable and effective as Mr. Bond.... :)

ciao....

I do recall 007 had problems figuring out which gun was which ;). In "Dr. No", when he kills the geologist who came in with a M1911A1, Bond refers to it as a S&W "and you've had your six" before he shoots the geologist. So much for Hollywood, I guess.

I have seen that poster many times, and agree - it sure looks like an air or CO2 pistol. But most moviegoers would never know the difference. I think today, the movie technical advisors are much better than they used to be, at least regarding "casting" of the correct firearms for the period and circumstances of the movie.

I vaguely remember reading that when that photo was taken, no one had remembered to bring an actual pistol to the photo shoot. Somebody present had that pellet gun in his car, so they pressed it into service, figuring, as DWalt said, that few people would know the difference.

There were a lot of mistakes about guns in Dr No Movie. In the begining the screenplay said tha armorer gave Bond a Walther PPK but actually it was a Walther PP, and Felix Letier had a Walther PP too and they said it was a PPK. In the same scene that you said Bond had the Walther PP but when he put the silencer in it suddely it was transformed in a Browning model 1922. In the Dr. No island when Bond was shooting to the vehicule that the islander belive was a Dragon in some takes the Walther PP was transformed in a Colt 1911A1.

And I almost forgot when M ask Bond for his Beretta .25 actually was a Beretta model 1934 or 1935 (.380 or .32 caliber instead a .25 and larger than Berettas .25).
