I purchased this buckle recently and would like some info in it if someone can help.
The story was it was given to a S&W employee for 35 years service. Story sounded good, buckle looks good, and it was cheap, ticks in 3 boxes so rather than kick myself later I bought it.
Anyone know of this buckle or can shed some light?
Cheers.

I have many employee service awards and have never seen this. Did the person that you bought it from say how old it is. If it's less than 40 years old, it is not really an award. All of the Bangor Punta era awards had some sort of stone in the award and say Bamgor Punta along with the S&W logo. What does the back look like? If there is a box, a picture of that would help.

We sold belts (brown on one side black on other side) and this buckle came with it. This was smiths dress belts

Thanks for the replies.
I have attached a few more photo's. I have no other information on the buckle.

FRAN357, do you have other information on the dress belt. When was it used, how long was it issued for, was it available to the public or any other info that would be great. Thanks.
Cheers.

When were these sold, it looks like 1980's or later.
If they were sold, then that proves they were not awards to employees.
FRAN357, where is your shop, I see your from Massachusetts.

Don, I remember these belts from about the late 70s - early 80s period, with the "folding" style buckle shown, however I can't find them listed in the accessory catalogs of the period. The buckles were not sold separately. You had to buy the belt to get the buckle. Ed.
