Want a Shield & live in Florida? FGE will be receiving a shipment in both calibers on Friday, & they will be selling for $449. Hope this helps some of my fellow Floridians. GARY

Just try getting spare magazines for the 40 cal .... impossible. I've been trying for several months now with no luck. Looking for the 7 rounder. Per S&W (phone call) advises won't dist. any until next year as all they have are being used to fill the Shields themselves. Not very pleased about this but nothing one can do. FYI, Shoot Straight in Tampa received 50 (yes fifty) Shields for the same price you've mentioned.

I was at SS in Tampa today around 1pm and they had two .40 Shields in their case.

I called about them. I would probably pay $449 for it OTC. But $30 shipping plus $20 FFL fee just puts it out of reach.

Those fees are very low for Florida. The guns must be shipped air next day and a $20 transfer fee is on the low side as I've seen shops asking $35 and more.

Shoot Straight wanted thirty bucks shipping and they wanted to charge Fla. sales tax, even on out of state sales. I passed.

OTOH, FGE only charged twenty bucks shipping. My .40 is on its way to my FFL.

Thanks for the heads up. :)

I don't know why they want sales tax on out of State sales. I used to work at the WPB store, & questioned the store manager, & even though I explained to him that it was not legally required, he said that's what the owner wants. They're really only set up for a cash & carry business. GARY

While we are all discussing price, just remember the stores pay $325 each for these guns. I know this because whenever we got a shipment, that's the price that was marked on the invoice. I imagine stores that buy in large quantities pay slightly less. GARY
