Hey guys im looking to get one of the single battery EOTech red dot sights. I do have a front sight mounted to the gas block. What do you guys think, should i plan on removing this sight and instaling a flip up sight? Does it get in the way of using the red dot? Pictures would be most apreciated. Thanks

You'll forget it's there and typically, the red dot sights just above it. You should be fine with a fixed sight. That's how I run my 15-22 now. Used to run my OR like that until I changed my rail. It was never a problem at all.

OR in the back.

The front A2 sight post does not impede the use of a red dot sight. Sight in the irons. Mount the dot. Set the dot to hover at the tip of the front sight post. Done.

Thanks for the input!! I found this picture on google and it seems like their wont be much of a problem with the f sight. But im wondering what the difference would be with the 7mm raised EOTech model would look like. Does anybody have a sight picture of one w this set up?

I think, although my metric measurements are not that good right now. The picture is what is called absolute co-witness, if you put the riser on it to where the front sight is down in the lower 1/3rd of the optics sight picture that is called 1/3rd co-witness and you can use it in conjunction with your rear BUIS, someone please correct me if I am wrong. :D

Correct. I remember a buddy adding a 7mm riser to get 1:3 cowitness. It simply pulls the front sight out of view a bit more than cowitnessing in the center (absolute) of your sight view. I personally prefer it.

Thanks, I'm thinking that I will be buying the raised version of the EOTech. It seems like the front sight will be a little distracting. Unless you can purchase a riser separately?? I need to do a little more research. I'm still looking for a picture if anybody has one out there
