M&P15-22 Mag development

My heart goes out to those who lost children, family, and friends in Connecticut. I can not imagine what kind of hurt and pain the families are going through right now. Due to this tragic event I may not get my ATF application approved. Looks like I need to push to have these molds made before the beginning of the year. I just read on fox 8 website the government is going to try and ban assault rifles and magazines over 10 rounds. What does this mean? It means my hard work may be at a lost along with the money and time spent developing the high cap mags. Here is the article regarding this issue: Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein to introduce assault weapons ban bill | MyFOX8.com

The CSP kept hitting the "high capacity magazines" and "hundred of rounds of ammunition" issues in its press conference this afternoon. They have been trying to get mag and ammo amount restrictions, among other things, through the legislature for years. I am sorely afraid they will succeed this year!

I think they will succeed this year because they are using the media to push people to agree with the ban. Which we all know this event and other recent events were caused by people with mental problems. Hell the guy was denied the right to purchase a rifle recently. He took his mothers weapons and used them.

My sympathies to all that have been affected.
The sad fact is that there will always be sick people capable of these atrocities and they will use whatever tools are available, unfortunately a firearm is sometimes the weapon of choice. I don't believe tighter controls on firearms will prevent incidents like this happening, when tighter gun controls hit Britain knife crime soared and I'm sure if knives got "banned" another item would take their place. A firearm is simply an easy target for votes and I suspect imposing tighter controls on them is cheaper than than psychological screening which is where I believe the real problem lies.
My heart go's to the families and my fingers are crossed for all on here that could also be afected.

Looks like I'm gonna be buying a few AR lower's real soon. :-)

Don't waste you money. If a semi-auto ban is enacted, either by congress, individual states or presidential executive order, it will be a total ban on possession (coupled with confiscation) and not future production and sales.

It will be Obama's first step towards total disarmament - the Constitution be damned. Only SCOTUS can stop him, and I'm not confident that they will.

According to Feinstein, it would not be retroactive. If you believe anything that comes out of her commie traitor mouth.

No way I believe her. BTW, she holds a concealed carry permit - one of fewer than 100 in San Francisco.

Doubt it. Most aren't registered, so confiscating would be quite difficult. I'm willing to be it won't be retroactive if it happens at all. But I guess we'll see.

Problem is how they define Assault Weapons. They SHOULD be defined as automatic or select-fire, like pretty much ALL "real" assault weapons are. Unfortunately, they seem to go more by looks than function.

Not taking anything away from what happened this past week, but these things happen throughout the country every week. I dont like to see or hear of people being killed by some mental case. My opinion is the government will use this recent incident to pursue their assault rifle ban even more just like they used 911 to start homeland security and listen to all of our conversations on phones and get into our cpu systems without our permission.

Latest was that he used the Bushmaster on the students and faculty, offed himself with one of the handguns, and left a shotgun in the car.

They said the shotgun had a drum mag on it.
