GET THEM BEFORE THEY GO ALL I CAN SAY

Thermolds choked my 6920.
Maybe they are different now?

Brownell's and Pmags only for me.
(mostly Pmags)

The history on the Thermolds was there was a time when they were made with substandard material in Canada, My little brother used a couple of my Thermolds Christmas time in his AR15A3 Colt with no problems whatsoever!

Do any of you gentlemen have experience with Lancer magazines?

Yes; they are very good. Very good. A little pricey, but they have neat features like the split body with the steel lips and clear bottom, they are more expensive because let's face it; they take a lot more work to make.

I have a couple, and they work very well.

Wow selling 100 round drums too. Not trying to deter anyone but something tells me they will try and legislate anything over 10 capacity a felony if outside the home. Wondering if the manufacturers sense this and trying to dump stock. Magpul has already announced the intro of 10 round mags "in the first quarter of 2013".

Just a gut feel I have. Absolutely no data to back it up. Then again my gut feel on Nov 7th helped me immensely......

Xmas came again for me i guess just now... Happen to be in WALMART to get my a sandwich from Subway and happen to notice the delivery semi in the back of store. Just on a whelm went to the sporting section and soon as the case was scanned into inventory what do you know I bought out the full truck load pallet of tula and remington .223 before it even hit the shelf. And for some reason it seems to be cheaper. That is a total of 6 cases at 500 rounds for tula per case and a total of 18 of the remington 100 pack bulks. Think I am good now... Yes Tula is steel but at this point I can't be picky. And bulk pack isnt the best but been saving up and had to do it. Going to give out some to a few of my soldiers looking for ammo also and a few guys at the range. Good deeds i believe can be redone in the future.

Word circulating around base right now and through Quantico Tact. is that Zip you are not far off from what they trying to do. Thing is the compromise that I believe is going to happen is to grandfather in magazines but have to register large capacity and only used at official ranges.

Not that it makes me happy but I was expecting something like that. I belong to a shooting club so if that were the case I'd be fine HOWEVER since I'm not a volume shooter I'll only take 10's to the range. Keep the 30's and 20's at home and ready. ;)

My time and money at the range is limited anyway so having 5 or 10 10 rounders to take with me will work just fine. NEVER do mag dumps or bump firing. My practice is deliberate. Every shot has a purpose. My idea of "volume shooting" is to quickly shoulder my firearm - present to target - and rip off 3 to 5 shots.

I watch some of the younger shooters mag dump and I'm thinking WHY!?

Other than "fun" it makes no sense to me.

Unless I'm dialing in I never shoot off a bench. It's all "military" positions and situations...standing, kneeling and prone. The positions I'd have to use if God forbid I ever need to defend my home and family. Every shot has purpose.

What about if you live in the middle of no where and there are no "official ranges" I go shooting at our farm!! The closest house is a half a mile away and it is a relative!!

That my friend is going to be the million dollar question. The way I see it if you live outside city limits and have the land to safely fire your own weapons then you are paying for the land you should have every right. I read something earlier today about some guys going through and setting up a section of their land for sanctioned range use by itself. They pretty much made all their fire lines and other barriers and there is a way to be able to legalize it under the govt. as a legit private range sort of like these member only club ranges.

Interesting question Grover. I'd say keep a 10 nearby and do a quick switch into a backpack, chances of you getting hassled are probably much lower due to population alone. I just don't want to deal with a gung ho rookie cop who decides to pull me over for going 4 mph above the speed limit or having a license plate light out. Ah the joys of city / suburban living. **rolls eyes**

EDIT - I hope no one takes my comments as anti LEO. That's certainly not the case and I have several very good LEO and military friends. High level of respect for all who serve. I do feel if any of this goes thru some will be LOOKING for reasons to take your firearm over a technicality. I won't give them the opportunity. Unfortunately our firearms MAY be irreplaceable. Not worth risking it. I'll err on the conservative side for that reason only,

For you vets that may know, a Ranger friend of mine gave me a couple issued mags years ago. The mfg. was Labelle. I've never used one yet but they look good. Any experience with those? Other than that I only have Colt mags. BTW- thanks for your service.

My understanding is Labelle mags are now D&H. Highly liked magazines just behind magpuls and colts. I just ordered some D&H mags for that reason.

Build an addition to your house that's purpose-built for shooting :) sound-proofing and lexan window/shooting hole lol. Falls within the home

You know now that I think about it "home" would almost have to be rented property (apartment, condo etc) or property you have in deed. Obviously in urban / suburban areas "deed land" is moot. Local ordinance forbids firearm discharge in most cases. RURAL areas are different. It's my understanding and correct me if I'm wrong on this but only a GAME WARDEN can legally come only private property without restriction (warrant, reported issue etc) and make an arrest. I'm not a lawyer but I believe that to be the case. Otherwise your local rural sheriff could patrol your property 24/7 and there we be no legal recourse for you as a citizen. I dunno. Makes sense to me.

here is some information on your concern Zip. Hope this kind of explains it. Oregon Firearms Federation . Now I can speak from experience of living outside of city ordinance in NC. To this day I know people who have law enforcement out at their property to also do leisure shooting off duty as well as military. Now the other edge of this sharp edge is this. As I understood while living in this area, the sheriff department is and Wildlife Officials can come onto the property if you are also using property as hunting grounds. If you are just casually shooting on a make shift range then you are pretty much on your own. Same can be said if somehow you start a fire. Local FD is at the discretion to respond. Sad but true. Maybe someone in FD can chime in on this one.
