Found 2-25 rd. mags at LGS today

My LGS has been closed since before the holidays. Today was first day open since then. He had a couple 25 rd. mag for the S&W and also a couple 25 rd mags for my Sig Sauer 522. Also some CCI ammo. Regular prices too. Ya me! One thing I noticed when I got home was 1 of the S&W mags was missing the load assist button. It was in the sealed S&W bag and had never been opened. I will see if he has another tomorrow (probably doesn't) or will use it as is. Should work fine without it huh?

Yeah, it will work fine without the load assist button. If you want one, you can get them from S&W direct, just give them a call.

OK thanks for the tip. I will if he doesn't have one to trade out. Just another excuse to go look around the LGS some more.

If it has a blue follower, it's a 10-round, not a 25, despite the length.

Thanks but no they both say 25 rd. on the package and have the red-orange color just as the one that came with the rifle.

I was very lucky, been looking everywhere and online. Did order some straight from S&W and Cabellas after Christmas, don't know if I will ever see them though. I think the only reason this gun store had them was because he has been shut down for the holidays. Just that timing thing you know

Hopefully things will calm down in the near future, with magazines and ammunition once again becoming available at reasonable prices.

The "profit-taking" by some retailers and individuals is something I hope will be corrected very soon. One thread here mentioned a gun store with large quantities of ammunition, but was only selling it on gun broker.com, and not to walk-in customers. That's sad!

Hey all! new owner from orlando, i got my 15-22 from a LGS at a reasonable price (much better then the gun show).. well I have been looking for some mags, even the 10 round longs.. last night i look on S&W.com and notice that i can order them! So I place my order and then call first thing this morning, was only on hold for 3 minutes! and low and behold they actually have them INSTOCK!! So if your looking for the 10 rounders to convert then order it online and call and they will release your order! already got the shipping comfirmation email!

Thanks and I cant wait to start customizing this gun!

Welcome, I live on the Space Coast but bought mine at Shoot Straight just north of Orlando. I heard the gun show there this weekend was CRAZY. Same way a couple weeks ago in Melbourne. Would have liked to have gone but can't stand the huge crowds

Yeah I bought mine from shoot straight.. they were out at the gun show but had 10+ in the store! other vendors were selling it for close to $600 for the basic model! The gun show was nuts! we went on sunday and still had to wait close to 40 minutes just to get in! We left pretty quick as prices were crazy! I had no luck on any one having mags in stock other then S&W.com

At $3 per 1 I would just get that armorers 8 pack of aluminum ones off ebay and get the loading tool with it... better deal

Guess I should have called, I ordered two of the 10 rounders to convert at 11AM eastern via their web store and so far have nothing from them about shipping. Paid extra for 2 day shipping too, gonna be PO'd if they sit on the order for days before shipping....

S&W has always, well in the last two years anyway, charged $20.04 for magazines.

Magazines from S&W

Ordered two short 10 round magazines yesterday from S&W. Conformation of order does not indicate any delay. We'll see! S&W has both the short and the long 10 round magazines shown on their website as available. If you want the long 25 round mag, order the long 10 round mag and remove the pin. The information to remove the pin is here in the forum.
