I see a large amount of posters that don't display the NRA emblem. Is it that they don't belong, is there some organization that does a better job for us, or is there some reason that it is better to leave the emblem off?
My thought is that it is the least we can do, it's like not voting and then complaing about the administration.

i look at it this way, even though i am a member and display the badge, it is an internet forum. the badge means nothing to anybody except the members.

I am a member how ever I don't trust the NRA It is my opinion that they will go along with what ever restriction that would line their pockets such as manditory NRA safety training at a nominal fee. There is no place in the 2nd admendment that's says you have right to bear arms provide you pass NRA safety class.

I let my membership lapse after they did nothing to stop the last AWB. I dont see them doing anything this time around yet. I am sure there are others who feel the same.

I don't see the point to try to demean those who choose not to join for various reasons.

The 2A would already be gone if not for the NRA. The membership headcount was much lower back when the first AWB was passed. Much larger now but still needs more members.......strength in numbers They are the biggest elephant in the room and the strongest voice we have. Individually we can do nothing to fight this but as a member of an organization with clout we can do much.

I just upgraded to a life membership this week after reading of the $300 friends and family promotion on this forum. My sponsor didn't know about the promotion till I asked for his member #.
I saw others with the NRA logo so I went to the user control panel and clicked NRA Life and now when I post; there it is.
I would guess there are a lot of folks like me that are NRA members but never took the time to go to the control panel to set it up.

Every gun owner should be an NRA member, though we know that won't happen.

On a speciality forum like this though, we should ALL be NRA members. If I understand correctly, there is currently a $20 membership. Even if you disagree with the NRA on some points, or even on MOST points, THE NRA NEEDS AS MANY MEMBERS, RIGHT NOW, AS WE CAN GET.

I heard on the news tonight, in the last month, NRA membership has gone up by 100,000 members. I'm disappointed that it isn't a million! I went from Life to Endowment and, if I can afford it after next payday, I may move up another level. (Benefactor?) Actually next up is Patron

I have been a life member of the NRA since 1982. I have no idea how to add the NRA Life Member badge to my name at this site. I would be appreciative if someone would tell me what I need to do so.

Where it says Welcome brucev in the upper right hand corner of the page, click on brucev where it is highlighted in yellow. This will take you to the customize profile page. Under organizations, just below Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation you will see NRA Membership with a little icon out beside it. Click on the icon and you will have a box that reads, "If you are an NRA member, choose the level of your membership," and several levels listed. Click on none, Member, Life, Benefactor or whatever level you are. Click save and you're done.

Because they failed to stop the last one, you're going to refuse to help us stop this one? We're not trying to demean anyone, we're asking you to please help by joining.

Just because you are a member of the NRA does not mean you can't support other 2nd amendment rights efforts. Don't let the perfect become the enemy of the good.
