NY Has Tentative Deal on Gun Control: AP

David,

Post your letter through social media, as I believe NY newspapers might just not print your views.

What a tragedy to to LAW ABIDING INDIVIDUALS.

Arrogant Elitist throughout time have met their doom by the peoples hand.

We use the Ballot Box, other countries have used the Gallows,

Firing Squads, Chopping Block, or exiled to a Gulag and never heard from again.

David,

A very good letter that I agree needs wide circulation. My heart goes out to my friends in New York. I used to live in the Finger Lakes region but now (again) live in Georgia. All the NY politicians showed was that they were "stupider faster" than whoever becomes the second liberal hell-hole to demonize the tools instead of the perpetrators of violence. Seven bullets and no pistol grip. Real genius.

I'm just inquiring, looks like court battles aplenty to follow.

I believe that alot of this hoopla will be struck down in court as unconstitutional. Dont trash your mags just yet.

I believe the NRA is lining up their lawyers and picking the time to go in and fight.

Chuck

My guess is the reply from NYS would be to send you some brochures from Texas and Florida. They will probably give you the names for some good moving companies in your area.

Id like to see Remington announce this afternoon that they will be shutting down and moving out of state by the end of the year. Same for Kimber, LRB and the rest.

One of the reasons I left Massachusetts and Connecticut after being born and living there for 34 years was their nonsense regarding gun ownership. I have lived and worked in WV for the next 30 and have never looked back. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has always been governed by the idiot legislators in Boston, western MA residents be damned. Although NYC isn't the Capitol of NY, the same sentiment exists. I ask you this, if a person drove into a crowd of people intentionally, killing many, would there be a hue and cry to ban automobiles? Hell no, yet I fail to see the difference. Mountaineers Will Always Be Free. I will defend ALL rights the Constitution has guaranteed us, and I know I'm not alone. Hang in there!

This NEW YORK stuff is NOT PASSED LAW YET.

It most probably will be though.

The Law was written IN THE BACK ROOM by The CUEMO GANG.

I get a little TIRED OF NRA NAYSAYERS talking about 1986,

We're you in the streets protesting, did you have SKIN IN THE

GAME, or did you just send dues money in and LET OTHERS CARRY THE WATER FOR YOU.

SATURDAY the Jan 19th, be ready and march on your State Capitol, or your Local Gun Store for support.

This Deal is going to require a major political effort by ALL FIREARMS ENTHUSIASTS.

Be tired of it all you want, I was in the gallery watching the vote! I had plenty of skin in the game at that time.

NFA owners, such as myself, trusted the NRA to protect our firearms but in the end all they did was protect those of the Fudds. Once you have been thrown under the bus you have a completely different outlook on who the NRA protects.

New York already had horrible Gun laws and it comes as no surprise to see this happen here.

My recommendation is don't visit NY, because they don't want law abiding citizens money and if you live there, move!

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but I get the impression that high cap mags for a pistol will be included, that the current Glock 19, for example, which comes in either a 10 round or 15 round mag will be illegal, requiring the manufacture of a new NY specific magazine?

I believe pistol mags are included. No more 8 rd 1911 mags. Possibly no more 8 rd revolvers.... Broomhandle Mausers.... 1873 Winchesters...anybody remember how many rounds a Spencer holds? A Henry repeating rifle from circa 1860 would also have a newly verboten mag.

People in NY might go along with it. Rest of the country is starting to feel like Kansas just before the ACW. Folks looking at each other suspiciously and burying guns.

New Yorkers should be accustomed to this.... I've long dreaded if I ever have to visit New York and constantly educate my students the dangers of flying through or driving through that horrible state!

Move to a state and support a state that supports your rights!

Or flee to Canada which will now have a more permissive gun law than NY. I wonder if a New Yorker could appeal for refugee status in Canada....

There are still some WW2 and Korean War vets around who will now have themselves forbidden to have a full en bloc clip for their Garand. That is a slap in the face.

A Federal court could of course strike down the NY law.

I would suggest citizens in other states not buy products made in NY. It might also be worth while to try to convince a state governor to do something amusing like declare that NY driver's liscenses are no longer valid in their state and ordering that the state police ticket any cars with NY plates...

First it was 10 rounds, than 7, soon it will be 5 shortly there after it will be 2, then none...

This will spread you are not safe from this, it just a matter of time.

In short order the government will be telling you what else you can and cannot have based on your "need"

Who needs a ________?

Coming soon to an Amerika near you

Good letter David, but you are writing to a committed totalitarian elitist. He could care less about American values and Constitutional rights.

The RINOs that sold out on this should be politically drawn and quartered in the next election. They deserve no less, even though they probably couldn't have stopped it anyway.

If you look at history, and I'm a history buff, this is the way the seeds of revolutions are sown. Also, for you folks who have just had a chance to look at your 2013 paychecks, be prepared to be shocked since someone promised not to raise taxes on the middle class...

I'm not a conspiracy junkie, but I must say the recent reports of large ammo purchases by the government are worrisome.

Big government is here and it's in-your-face.

"Ammunition magazines would be restricted to seven bullets, from the current 10, and current owners of higher-capacity magazines would have a year to sell them out of state. An owner caught at home with eight or more bullets in a magazine could face a misdemeanor charge."

This is insane. Worse, the reality of Cuomo being our president-elect in four years is not.

Fantastic letter, David.
I am very sorry for New York state residents that their politicians would even consider such draconian measures against it's citizens.

Thank you for sharing your letter.

We all need to send letters like this to our Govenors and representatives.

I want to add that this is not just a NY issue, our country just took a step in the wrong direction.
I know that this legislation will be met by fierce opposition in the courts, but I truely feel for those that will have to fight this battle on our behalfs. Some of our brethren in NY will be arrested and prosecuted because of these insane laws.

This will be a long fight, but I honestly believe we will eventually come out on top. But we have to stay united in the cause. Bitching about what the NRA does and doesn't do won't help our cause. This fight is for all of us and we all need to invest our time and money to it.

March on your Capitol this saturday!
