Never bought on gun broker or any other auction/weapon sites. I live in calif., and I'm curious as to how easy it is to purchase stuff and have it shipped to a local ffl. Any other state I would probably have no worries, save for NJ,NY.

Is it a simple as eBay?
Thanks

Its pretty simple when its being shipped to a state that doesn't
have the kind of restrictions you have to deal with in Cali. I've
noticed a lot of the sellers have "No Sales To California" policies.
If its legal to have in Cali they should ship it to you.

Too easy for some of our members who have been known to 'nip while they browse' . . . . :D

Easy to buy/use, but - the greatest impediment is finding a local FFL to work with that doesn't add excessive fees to the transaction to render it not worth the trouble. Some seem to think it's more trouble than they care to mess with and others see it as competition for their shop and raise the rate to discourage it. Business is business. As long as everything is done by the book and the paperwork is square why resent making a few bucks for what amounts to 5 minutes or less of paperwork and an NICS call ? Seems like easy money to me.

One of the directors at our rifle club has an FFL / Class 3. He's a bookkeeper. He's on file with a lot of the major Internet gun sellers. Recently I bought a rifle from Bud's Gun Shop and a silencer from SilencerShop. Just clicked on his name on their web site... bingo... shipped automatically to his address. Price is reasonable - $25 and $50 for Class 3. Feds not so reasonable on the Class 3. $200 and perhaps the better part of a year wait.

I have had no problem and I am in NJ, sure the FFL is $60 and the NICS is $15 but I take it home the day it arrives and there is no way I would have the selection locally that I have shopping online. I do make sure the seller has a solid reputation with A LOT of happy buyers and GOOD photos and return policy. Been very happy with every purchase. Even my FFL says WOW when he sees what I have been able to buy. I do make sure I spend as much as I can with my FFL on accessories and ammo so he doesn't feel left out.

Everytime I've had the urge to bid, I remember that FFL fees from my local FFL's range from $150-$175. That makes the transaction so much less attractive I just 'pass'. I think in AZ it's only $30.

I can shop for FFL in NJ and there are some for less but I have a good relationship and the ability to buy whatever I need at my neighborhood store and to me that is worth the premium.

That's why it's important to have a good relationship with your LGS. I've bought several guns locally, along with other supplies. I also bought several (used) guns and had them shipped to this same dealer. Small fee for processing. These were guns he didn't carry and couldn't obtain so he understood I wasn't slighting him.

I have bought many guns from Gunbrokers and I am in CA also.I always send the seller an email to ask if he is set up to ship to CA and if he would.I have been successful with this about 75% of the time.I even helped a few sellers get onto the CFLC program so they can ship to CA.

If I may ask...who do you use as your FFL and how much do they charge you?

I sell a few on G-broker BUT will not ship to CA, NY, or NJ. Sorry but you don't like your laws vote them out.

I use a local pawn shop. they charge $25 which is a great deal in my area. this may be a cheaper route since they dont think online sales compete with their business like a big gunshop might.

I used to lean this way but after serious thought and looking at the election maps it's clear that many people are living in 'occupied territory' and are held hostage by the detritus holed up in the urban centers. Square miles don't cut it - it's the density of population in those square miles. When one or two cities command an overwhelming majority of leftist voters it matters not that the entire remainder of the state doesn't feel that way - they suffer the consequences.

Withholding trade from these folks is punitive, penny-wise and pound foolish, akin to bayoneting your own survivors on the battlefield.

FInd a new FFL, mine is $10.

it's Not really about liking the laws, just curious for input on purchasing guns and gun stuff thru the internet.

Sorry you dont ship to California, I was gonna pay YOU $2 a round for 5.56 ammo! Guess I will just wait out the hysteria and buy stuff later.

The internet is an amazing thing.
