Not surprising inasmuch as they are not a nation of laws. Their leaders have no respect for the rights of their own citizens and would never tolerate an armed civilian population.

I read somewhere that one reason no country has ever tried to invade the US is our armed civilian population. Makes sense to me. And if anything like this were ever to happen, guess who'd be frantically knocking at your front door asking for help because you have a gun!

Today while reading the news I see that our concerned friends in China would like to see our Dear Leader ban and confiscate all privately owned firearms. Imagine that.

Innocent blood demands no delay for U.S. gun control - Xinhua | English.news.cn

Makes you wonder why they are so interested in disarming the American people? Wonder what the the long term plans of the People's Army are? China is not our friend, our business people that have shipped American jobs to China are traitors. They should go live there.

Close.
There was that War of 1812 thing.....
The Brits burned the White House. WHERE are they when we REALLY need them? :D

I think a couple of thousand miles of water on each side has helped a lot. ;)

Let's all remember-
6. Derogatory, Flippant, or Crude names for any government official will NOT be tolerated.
Respect the OFFICE, if not the holder.

That means the President of the United States will be referred to as "the President", or by the accepted usage of his last name or initials- 'Obama' or 'BHO'. Other government officials will be afforded the same courtesy.

They would love to see us disarmed. And we all know why. They have a little blood on their hands also.

I remember some article I read from a gun owner/writer that lived in the LA area around the time of the O.J. riots. All his anti-gun neighbors/friends/relatives suddenly came flocking to his house wanting to borrow a gun or to seek shelter...

Funny how their high minded principles disappear when the thugs rule the streets.

Of course they would like to see us all disarmed.
They own a lot of the country now and don't want
any trouble when they decide to buy the other half.
"Heavy Sarcasm".....

Actually there was another invasion. The Japanese invaded at least two Aleutian islands in Alaska during WWII. Some historians believe this was a feint designed to draw U.S. forces away from Midway. They were not defended and basically the Japanese invasion was ignored and dealt with after the Midway and Guadalcanal campaigns were over.

It was actually the Rodney King riots and it was pretty chaotic in LA for a few days. However, it is notable that as a group, the Korean shop owners were the only ones NOT to have their businesses burned to the ground because they were bravely and visibly perched on the rooftops of their businesses with rifle or shotgun in hand and no one messed with them. And they were located in the BLACK neighborhoods! Is there a lesson here???

The Chinese government has an easier go on the "gun violence" problem and they make sure it is directed from government > citizens instead of the other way around...

But remember, the well regulated militia (Citizens of Baltimore) helped repel the British when they came up the Chesapeake Bay. Most fled, but some stayed and fought with their arms and saw by the dawns early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming; whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight...we proudly know the rest :D:D

It is actually not that difficult to buy a gun/rifle in China if you are very careful and know where to get one. There are quite a few underground channels to buy firearms, because the crack down is not that tough!

Latest development:
China just carried out a successful mid-course ballistic missile defense test! This is the 3rd time China carried out this kind of test!

Thanks! You're right, it was the Rodney King riots (LA has had a number to choose from). It's been awhile since I read the account.

I remember we had a guy TDY to LA at the time; we finally got a hold of him (he was safe). He told us how he could see the smoke rising in the distance as his taxi was whisking him away from the area. If he wouldn't have left for a few more minutes... he'd have been in the area.

I've had to clean this thread up twice.
That's a shame because it would be good for us to remain aware of international pressure on gun control.
