To his credit, he is right, nothing currently being discussed will do anything to stop mass shootings.

What would work (armed security) has been labeled as the rantings of lunatics that don't understand that we don't want our children going to schools that look like prisons.

High fences with razor wire, double doors with authorized entry only, etc. are fine, but don't put armed security there because that makes it like a prison.

None of these "gun control" measures are aimed (oh dear, did I say aimed?) at stopping mass shootings. They are meant to disarm the American people. If you note almost all of these shooters killed themselves before the cops got to them. They had no intention of surviving the act. They don't need hi-cap mags or whatever they can do what they want to do with a revolver.

These people who are proposing this legislation are not stupid or misguided or idiotic. They are smart and in earnest. They know they can chip away at the rights of the people and end up with a disarmed country in the end.

And yet every .gov agency is absolutely armed to the teeth. Read a headline this morning that FDA guards shot a 15 year old kid. Amazing proficiency to, between two of them they hit the kid in the foot. Maybe that's why they need more guns and standard cap mags... Armed FDA...and the same govt wants to destroy its citizens' rights to firearms. What have we come to?

As with any kind of security there is nothing that is 100%, the goal is to make what you want secure harder than the next person so the bad guy goes after the easier target.
For example computer security, Windows is the most popular target for reasons such as its the most used, its insecure by default, the general user isn't good at or well practiced at security. So you load up a bunch of security software to make yourself a harder target or use a more secure OS, etc.
Same with securing your home or car, you install alarms, break resistance glass, etc to help steer the bad guys toward the less secure ones.
So why then are the people who pay for armed guards for their kids and schools telling us that putting guards in the schools we send our kids to is a bad idea and instead the public should have to register guns and only have 10 bullets?

Because the kumbaya utopian society sought by some at the expense of our rights contains a very strict set of rules that only apply to the masses, not the ruling class.

Biden got it exactly right. Ritalin type drugs mixed with unsupervised massive amounts of violent video games complimented by unrestricted viewing of the modern day babysitter (TV) and then you add the public "school" system and look what we have. There is absolutely NOTHING that will be done in our lifetimes to correct the societal issues so ensuring "we" are trained and equipped to deal with the inevitable is the only thing that will even remotely address the security issues for "we the normal people".

This is usual government tactics.

Newly offered so called "Gun control laws" offers nothing but the illusion of safety to those uninformed masses who follow them sheepishly.

Their reasoning ? Prevent the massacres like in Newton ever happening again.
Solution they offer? No more AR15s.
And they act like heroes who found the magical solution to stop these mass shooting tragedies...

But what they don't tell the people that it is still possible for any crazy person to walk in to another school with 2 Glocks, each with 17 round capacity magazines and cause another massacre.

God forbid if the crazy person have a spare magazine for each of those Glocks...

I think that is more than enough for any crazy person to cause serious damage on multiple people.
So, what is this new AR15 ban will be preventing really?

Imagine a crazy person driving a stolen Ford Excursion to mow down 15 children in front of a school.
These legislature tells us if they ban Ford Excursion sales this will never, ever happen again.
Plus if they make it really hard to get an SUV, believe them that this tragedies will never ever happening again.
If that was the case everybody will laugh at their remedy but when it is about guns most people buying their dumb argument.

That's why this background check argument have over 90% support.

BG checks already in progress and 99.999% of the criminals don't get their guns from a local gun shop.
But, come explain that to a person who never owned, used, bought or sold a gun in their life.
