Talk about price gouging

It will stop when people stop buying.
When an item sits unsold on a shelf the price drops.

I think that is going to take awhile.

There have been 65,376,373 background checks completed for Americans purchasing firearms since February of 2009, the first full month of Barack Obama's presidency.

Comes and goes with every hobby other than playing with stick and rocks. Just comes with the territory, so stop complaining ;)

Old Cop had it right. Supply and demand. I believe there will be a saturation point when production and demand reverse. It will happen just as sudden as it started. One day the people that are buying will have enough and stop. Then the increased production will soon fill the stores and warehouses and drive the prices back to a reasonable rate. I never bought any high priced items. I have my larder filled and have for some time. But then again I am an old guy.

I hope so. I am one that buys when stuff goes on sale whether i need it or not. So as far as ammo i am more than set.

I bought a S&W M&P 15-22 a few months ago and it came with the 25 round magazine. I wanted a few of the 10 round small ones for bench shooting.

Who would have thought that they are in that high demand????

Its crazy.

What I have for my other weapons I am glad i bought 20 years ago with the weapons. What they are selling for now is just crazy.

Really?
How the heck are you getting it down to 10 cents each for "premium"???

Hornaday 55gr FMJBT - qty 1000 - $89.99
CCI #450 - qty 5000 - $149.99
Hodgdon H335 - 8lbs - $157.99 (NOT including HazMat surcharge)
Range pickup brass - Free

Price per round: $0.18
And that's not "premium", that's basic plinker rounds.

You have to remember some of us "old timers" have been doing this a long time and have been through a few rough times in the past 30-40-50 years. We have a tendency to stock heavy when times are good and just ride out the hard times like now.:D

Lgs in my area was loading up shelves with bricks of. 22 today. I was in and out picking up a gun from a GB deal and didn't get the price on the. 22's. I'll check it out tomorrow. At least shelves are being stocked!

I know it is a different beast but want to talk about gouging...the clowns at Cheaper than Dirt have a Colt LE6920 for sale...all yours for 3,895

Werent they under a grand at Wally World a few months ago??

I wouldn't ever deal with CTD for what they did in '08, I'd like to tell them what to do with that Colt but you know, some idiot will probably pay it so..........................

I received an email from Cabelas that the box of 525, Federal which was ordered 05Dec2012 was scheduled to arrive in their stock on the 25th this month.
I am not holding my breath.

I definitely wouldn't hold my breath. Cabelas seems to sell ammo at times that people have already been waiting for. I have a couple of orders in with them and I haven't been able to actually get a hold of anything.

Very true. I was poking around and came across a board that was like Craig's List but for weapons etc.

Local guy had a picture of a table full of S&W .22lr magazines. I would guess around 40 of them. All different sizes, all still in the original packaging.

No prices, i called just out of curiosity.

$80 for the 10 round mini's
$120 for the 25 round ones.

and he said they will be gone by the end of the week.

just crazy.

The problem is people are eating up the expensive stuff. If they'd just wait or only buy what they need prices would quickly fall back to normal

Supply & demand is a concept, it does not mean your REQUIRED to gouge the s**** out people. That is still a choice.

It's not a concept, it's a law.

And you are not REQUIRED to buy guns/mags/ammo either.

This stuff isn't a necessity. Food, fuel, yes.

Honestly I don't know why we bother, people like to b!tch about stuff....

It's never going to change
