Senator Smith along with Cosponsors: Senators Brown, Kearney, Skindell, Tavares, Turner - have introduced Ohio's "Assault Weapons Ban", along with a firearms and ammunition transaction database.
This would include ANY weapon capable of accepting a magazine larger then 10 rounds (not just rifles). This would ban almost all semi-automatic rifles and handguns along with any gun with a fixed magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds. There are no exceptions - including no exception for .22lr rifles.
About the only thing you would be allowed to own would be a revolver. There is no "Grandfathering". Possession of said "Assault Weapon" after enactment would be a 5th degree felony.
All firearms and ammunition purchases would be tracked in a database created and maintained by the BCI. (The Bureau of Criminal Identification)
They are coming for your guns.
