M&P22 Safety Plug v2 - kits for sale!

Thanks. Also, will removing the safety have any effects on the slide staying open after the last round is fired and ejected?

Nope, two totally different parts of the gun. The gun will operate exactly the same, just with no safety.

guys when you shoot your kid or wife with this homebuilt "kit" that has not been track or time tested you might want to THINK before you install

What? I don't muzzle my wife and kids, or anyone for that matter. No disrespect, but that's a dumb statement.

What's the difference between this "kit" and just removing the safety levers and leaving the factory rod in place? I looked at my 22 and do not see why it would be dangerous if you keep your booger hook off the bang stick.

The kit is a shorter rod and plastic plugs that fill the gap in the frame when removing the safety.

Just a little update. Everyone who ordered a kit over the weekend, they were put in the mail this morning. Those who live outside the US who ordered a kit, your's will be in the mail *** soon as I get my front fender back on my car. Apparently it's illegal to drive with your tires exposed says this $180 ticket. :(

Latest order of plugs shipped today.

I am planning on creating a laser mount for the M&P series that will snap in around the grip. Just gotta find a small enough laser that I can order in large quantities.

Thanks again for the plugs. The install took 5 mins at the most. They look great

NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! Just tried installing these plugs. Everything flew apart and now I cannot reassemble the pistol. Oh, the videos warn you to hold onto everything. Well, I dont have 3 hands! And they dont show what to do when the SHTF. I admit I am not a gunsmith, far from it. But I was lead to believe this didnt require that kind of expertise. I have done permanent damage to my gun during the process. Can someone please point me to a video that shows how to re-assemble all of the parts? I have no freakin idea where this little spring came from.

What little spring are you talking about? If you followed the directions in the video - and in the downloadable PDF the only spring you should have is the one that is roughly 2 inches long that fits in the frame in the grip. On top of that spring there should be a plunger.

Take a photo of what's going on and I will help. Nothing should be too complicated and nothing should of flown apart.

I apologize to the inflammatory post. I was very frustrated. I dropped the gun off with a gunsmith for reassembly.

I have attached a picture of the components and the damage I did.

Murphy is a b*&^!

Without having my gun apart, or near me, I have no idea where that spring goes. When I took the gun apart to build the plugs the only spring that I messed with was the one in the frame.

What damage did you do to the inner assembly?

That spring goes between the sear lever and the frame... It must not have been in there correctly because it seats in a little hole and shouldn't be able to come out unless you take the frame itself apart... If you look at it from the back bottom, it should go between the little silver bit that pivots around the new pin and the frame...

I unknowingly beat the hell out of it trying to drive the front pin out. I also did damage to the polymer in the area of the front pin. I think its all cosmetic and probably wont effect the operation of the gun but it will bother me from now on. This was a brand new gun :( When I get it back I will likely make someone a really good deal on it and go get another new one.

IMHO, this is not something an amateur should attempt. This is far more involved than a field strip. If you are not comfortable removing the entire trigger assembly I highly recommend you have the work done by a gunsmith.

This is all quite embarrassing for me. Again I apologize for the negative post. I meant no offense to the OP or anyone else in the thread. I did try to delete it but was unable to.

THESE PLUGS ARE A GREAT PRODUCT AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. I applaud the designer. One day I will have an M&P22 with them installed!

Right thur... Not that it is much help to you now...

Is there a preferred method of disassembly/reassembly direction regarding the 2 pins that need to be hammered out first? From the view of the barrel pointing away from you, of course. Or, does the direction of removal really matter?
