Wouldn't it be nice if S&W came out with M&P in 17HMR cal? that ammo is stocked all over the market

Semi in .17 has been tried and for the most part abandoned by major names due to OOBs. Also, .17 ammo is beginning to dry up. I still have my Remy semi which was recalled a long time ago.

I would like one in .22 mag. Little more hitting power for small game hunting.

I'd be all over a .22 mag or .17 HMR, but in these part they seem just about as cleaned out as everything else and are priced about the same as 9mm was before the ammo craziness.

Guess I'll just wait for the RMR  (although I did actually see a KSG up for raffle at the LGS yesterday, apparrently they had one for sale earlier in the day as well )

The also sell just an upper that they say must be used with a metal lower.

They sell only a 10 rnd. mag and have no plans to increase capacity.

In the FAQ section they talk about OOB situations and how the plastic mag is part of the safety system, the plastic breaks and drops the remaining live rounds on the ground (so they don't cook off?)

For those that chose to keep their .17 semi, keeping the chamber CLEAN seems to be the main cure. Can't say it's right or wrong, but many are doing this with no problems. It's an ongoing debate. I can understand why companies probably decided dropping the line was the wise option as opposed to any profit. My biggest beef on the matter was that Rem would only issue a credit coupon for another Rem product that was worth less than half the price paid.
