I've had some success. I have watched as stores have gone from Out of Stock to In Stock. Not all stores, but there have been a few stores that have gotten ammo in now. I was in a store today that had 10 boxes of .223 and .38 special and others. They did not have any .22LR or 9mm though.

I don't think they can update it that fast. It comes in and it goes out, blink.

I've had the app for over a week. Nothing. No status changes at all. I was about to give up. Today I check it about 4pm and the local store showed 22lr in stock and so did 2 other surrounding stores. I went to the local store and sure enough nothing on the shelves. I call from in the store and ask to speak to a manager. The manage that answers is a guy I know. I explain about what the app says and he tells me that he doesn't have any. He decides to double check for me and says "wow it says I have 10". I said that's what I just told you. He says well maybe it's a mistake. I don't let up and say maybe its coming on the truck and just not here yet. He says look man I can see everything that's coming on the truck and also what any other store is getting on the truck. I said well the app shows these 3 stores getting these items. He's getting frustrated and says I'll check again but I already have!! There is silence then he says "wait a minute that store IS getting those items. Lets check our store again". Then "you are right I just found it. We are getting what u said and it will be out at 7am. Be here then". So I guess what I'm saying is that app is right on. If they tell u different I'd keep drilling them on it. And I'm not a guy to keep on and on about something but im tired of these ppl giving us the run around. Good luck to you guys. I'll see what happens in the morning.

Try to take it a little easy on the employees themselves. I am a former victim of Mr. Sam's employment, and can attest that the company doesn't give the folks in the stores the tools to help the customers the way they should... They also promote more for how good you are at towing the company line and brown nosing than they do for skill or intelligence.

I'm not saying to excuse poor service, but do try to be patient with the folks you speak to...

Your issues with stock also have something to do with how the stores themselves operate. The day's trailers usually arrive at the store itself somewhere between 8pm and 2pm the following day. The crew that unloads the trailer arrives at 4pm and is *EXPECTED* to have that trailer completely unloaded no later than 7pm (regardless of how many pieces are actually on the trailer) Ammunition is *USUALLY* put into a locked cage with the high ticket electronics, then distributed to the floor some time between 10-11pm to be restocked on the shelves overnight (before 7am). (*This is for non-24hour Walmarts, at the 24 hour ones the product can actually hit the shelf any time, but usually in that 12m - 7a window.)

7am is *USUALLY* going to be your best time to hit up Walmart if its not a 24-hour store. If it IS a 24 hour store, the wee hours of the morning might be your best bet, but it can really be a crapshoot.

Ok just got back from 2 WM. The app showed the local walmart only getting 10 boxes of Remington 225rds. 30 miles away walmart showed to be getting a much larger shipment. Woke up early and made it to WM 30 miles away at 6:15. First one there. Sure enough at 7 when they put the ammo out everything the app said was coming in was in. I grabbed 3 boxes of 333 and headed back. Now my previous comment explained how I had to keep on asking about the shipment the app said was coming in. Well when I get back to town its 8am and I know those little 10 boxes are well gone but I decide to stop by anyway. 3 guys waiting in line and they say they haven't seen anyone come out yet. Strange. Well a manager sees us and calls the sporting good manager out. He comes out and says "all we got in was a few boxes of 9mm. Everyone was wanting 22lr but the first 2 guys jump on the 9mm and leave. Next guy in line is my buddy so I say "hey where's the 10 boxes of Remington 222rds that was shipped?" He says there was none. We go back and forth about 2 minutes and he says let me go check again. At least 15 minutes go by and that manager I talked to yesterday shows up, asks where the guy is, then also goes in the back. Another 5 minutes goes by and out comes the guy with......10 boxes of Remington 22rds and a case of 9mm. He looks at me and says "Man you know more than I do and I'm a department manager. We had a laugh, got my ammo and out the door. I have become pretty close with most of the guys there and at no time was I rude with any of them. Just persistent. Trust the app and what the other guys said on the other thread about it. It works.

Has anyone had any luck in the NY area? Specifically Long Island.
I have about 15+ stores I can get to within a 30 minute drive and a bunch of them say in stock on certain ammo but then when I call or just go to see most people say they don't stock ammo period.

I just scored three boxes of 9mm using the app today. Every time I use it it works. It is a totally legit score when you can get the 100 round value packs for $22. I also have about 8 different walmarts in two different states to choose from. I am also a bit OCD with it. I don't care if it is 10 at night. If it pops up as in stock I will go get my three boxes.

The right app!

I use the website, but what is this app you guys are talking about?

I downloaded an app to my Ipad but it doesn't say which stores are getting what. It only lists items as out of stock or limited inventory etc...and it only checks one store (your designated store)at a time.

Please enlighten us!

Thanks,

How are you seeing how many boxes they are getting? I only see it either say In Stock, Limited Stock, or Out of Stock. Are you using the Android App or iPhone/iPad app? On the iPhone and iPad apps it has nothing regarding how many boxes.

You give the item number to customer service and they will tell you if it's back there or not. If you see something "in stock" and suspect the employees or managers back there are giving you the run around, go straight to customer service! These guys take it very seriously!!! I know first hand "some" employees/stores are full of **** and we now call their bluff and guess what? 99% of the time we walk out w/ our 3 limit.

I had Arnold Walmart Management lie about checking in back and they said I was wrong and the app was wrong and to come back tomorrow for the other truck that's coming in. Well, my neighbor went there a couple hours later and saw a guy walking out w/ 3 boxes of 555 winchester that was supposedly "in stock" but was no where to be found per management. Some of these workers are holding it for their personal agendas/gains. I posted my receipts in the 15-22 thread just to PROVE to you guys you can get ammo w/ this app!!! Better yet, see below :D

*The Fed 325 and 525 was bought elsewhere. Only the Winchester 333, 555, and 9mm were purchased using the website and app. I would have bought more ONLY if I knew about this "in stock" status months ago!!! I just learned of it a few weeks ago. Now it's YOUR turn!

Good luck all!

The app is called Walmart. Go to your iTunes store or the Google Play store and in the search bar type in Walmart. Hit download and install. No you have your App. Have Fun and Good Luck.

P.S. There is also a function with in the app that allows you to use the in-app bar-code scarred and it will bring up that item locally. We should get a thread going with just pictures of UPC bar-codes with the type and price of ammo for others to do quick searches with there phones. And yes you can scan the bar-code with your phone or tablet when the bar-code is on a computer screen.

Any clue as to when stock status is updated on the apps? Is it when its unloaded or what? I havent seen anything come up in stock in over a week between 8 stores.

FYI.....just because it's at the store...doesn't mean they have to put it out. My local Walmart Manager told me that he's stocking the shelves at different times to allow other people a chance to get ammo. He's sick of the same people getting all the ammo at 7am.

Now we're talking!

My phone or ipad (1st gen)will not scan but I could enter the codes manually I guess.

Lol I was able to score about 3500 rds off the website then got the app and haven't seen anything in stock since I got it. It is much faster than the website though. If you use the bar code does that tell you how many they are getting in stock?
