What kind of speedloaders are those? Nice

I have two favorites. My Ruger Redhawk for hunting:

And my S&W model 629-6 Talo Deluxe with a 3" barrel. I sent it S&W for the master revolver action package and for a fixed C&S extreme duty rear sight.

Just joined the 629 club this week. Haven't shot it yet, but picked up this gorgeous 629-1 in the classifieds of this forum..

I love the classic target stocks, but I had some Kurac smooth Coke-profile grips that didn't have an N-frame to call home. I think they make a good match...

They certainty do make a good match, it looks great, are they Osage

You asked who carries -- I do, this 629-1. I love the finishes on vintage blue 29s, but they are impractical for carry, and I can't afford enough guns to have some in boxes.

I carry this with Gold Dot Short Barrel .44 mag in it and some medium velocity Winchester LSWC. I bought a 4 5/8" stainless Super Blackhawk to shoot my full-house factory .44 mag ammo in. I wanted to spare the 629 and make it last... forever. Perfect for carry, forgiving finish, adequate for defense, the perfect versatile load.

I've been wanting 629 since I got my 686+.
Finally found a Trail Boss, I've been looking since last August.
I acquired it from an estate sale. My FFl grades it 99% LNIB.
I hope this qualifies me to join the club. Can't wait clean her up & get to the range. Main use will be for bear protection as my sons do alot of hiking in the White Mountains of NH. I leaning towards a Double Diamond Guide chest rig, your thoughts & comments please. I hope this is the 1st of many. I think they are simple awesome. BTW I love this thread & pics, you guys have some beautiful guns.

thanks to forum member AveragEd, I've got some new stocks on the way, think I'll put them on this 4" -1

Good looking gun, have you got it to range yet?was wondering which way you were leaning as for loads. I think that chest rig would be about perfect if you had a heavy pack to carry

Thanks CWH ! Got to the range couple days ago, was pretty cold so only fired 24 rounds. I started with 18gr of 2400. Happy with the accuracy for the 1 st time. Very manageable recoil, clean burn. I need to find the reloading forum for some input. I don't know enough yet about short barrel loads versus burns rates or if it's even a factor. Any suggestions or direction to the proper forum will be greatly appreciated.

We have a reloading section, you'll find plenty of action there. I'm pretty sure the slowest magnum powders (lill gun and H110)will yield the highest velositys no matter what barrel length you shoot them out of ( I'm partial to the rcbs 250k and 19 or so grains of 2400)

New production Competitor

I see you picked up another wild looking PC gun, I like it, I backed out of that magnum hunter, not sure what I'm after now...lol
How do you like your new competitor? Have you shot it much?

I have a 5" 629-4. Love it to death!! Carry it in the woods for Deer hunting and also in the off season for protection.(carry a S&W 4"500 Mag for ELK) I got mine the last year S&W said they were going to make them, then they changed their mind, oh well. I also just got a Model 29-3 6" just something about those 29/629'S that I just really like
