A "REVERSE KARMA" for some 9MM ammo...

In his paperweight thread I posted the name and phone number of an indoor range in his town that has 9mm in stock they will sell for $20 /50 if he shoots it there.

That is interesting. I bought my gun from them and they had no ammo and did not know when it would be in. I called up there the other day and none for sale. I tried again and they said they only sold ammo for range use only....it could not leave the store....$25.99 a box for 50 rounds. I go up there with the gun...and guess what...no 9mm ammo.
What is being done here with this 9mm karma thread means a lot to me. Thank you all so much.

s1mp13m4n,

Is that your car in your avatar?

Tell us about it, please.

Thank you.

That is my dad's car. Here are some pics and details:

1961 Ford Galaxie - a set on Flickr

I grew up with that car and it has been a part of my life from a little boy. The car stays in dad's 20x30 garage unless driven. The car might see 500 miles a year if that. Dad has all the number matching parts, but as it sits some parts are not stock such as wheels, tires, ignition system (it came with points), etc. the car sounds good with a deep bass tone exhaust due to Flowmaster mufflers mounted in stock location under the seats close to engine.

Almost like Christmas in March for you.:D

I did not participate, because I don't own a 9mm, so I have no ammo. Otherwise I would have shipped some to you also as many of these fine people have.

I am waiting for a S&W Shield to show up in 9mm at my LGS.

Sweet Galaxie! Interesting photo shoot as well. ;)

Guys, a friend of ours is in need.
Our fellow Forum member S1mp13m4n just bought his very first firearm - a Ruger SR9C 9MM, and he can't find ammo.
Several posters have said that they'd help out if they lived close, but the cost of shipping a whole box of ammo is too much money.

My idea:
What if a bunch of us each send him just 10 rounds of 9MM? How many guys would be willing to help out a new shooter? If a few if us sent him just 10 rounds, the cost wouldn't be horrible, it wouldn't deplete anybody's stash, and it wouldn't take long for him to get enough ammo to at least start learning his new gun.
How 'bout it? Any takers?
Maybe he can PM his address to anybody that commits and we can help this new shooter get started.
Maybe anyone who sends ammo can include what it is - brand, grain weight, etc. so when this shortage ends, he knows what to look for.

If S1mp13m4n wants to play along and give any participants his address, I will be the first one to commit to sending 10 rounds.

This is a wonderful idea -you're a whale of a guy, HB77. I've never owned a 9mm or I would surely participate.

Andy

Same here, I don't have a 9mm and I can't find any 9mm or .38 special ammo anywhere. There's lotsa .40 and .357magnum.

Thank you very much. The car is a cruiser. It will run at 160 degrees water temp and never gets hot. My dad and I painted the car in the late 90s and took it down to bare metal. The car is a mirror with no orange peel. Dad was asked at a cruise in by a local movie producer if they could use the car in a local film. Dad turned it down because he did not trust them to take care of it. The engine is hand built, balanced, and blue printed. Dad and built it in his garage.

My high School friend and I took his '56 Ford down to the Blvd during the filming of American Graffiti in the early '70s. We were able to park on the street during the cruise scenes to help make it period correct.

They had it in stock for $20 for range use two days ago when I called them.

Hey s1mp13m4n,

Don't give up on me! I'm waiting for an R/A number from Trijicon so I can send my 4013TSW slide in for new night sights. I need to make one trip to UPS for ambulatory reasons, but I WILL get it done!:D

I do not know what to say. Somehow thank you does not seem like enough. Thinking about all that people are doing, the genuine help, the fact that someone cares and is willing to help me protect my family ....despite my limited income....it means a lot to me. Thank you all so much. <happy tears>

Shipping Brass

Yes! The only restrictions are powder, primers or loaded ammo. At least that is my understanding. Someone may know more than me, though that is always what I have been told.

If you want to ship brass, send it USPS. Use one of their priority "If it fits, it ships" boxes.

You can get a good amount of brass in the small, $5.00, box.

Best,
Gary

The post office does not allow you to ship ammo or components.
It has to be UPS or FEDEX.

Paul,
Your UPS guy is going to be busy. Should get the package Monday.

A busy UPS guy is a good thing. I wonder when things will start arriving and also will I have to sign for them?
