I bought the 9mm Shield back on December 23rd and today was the first opportunity I had to put it through its paces. OMG what a wonderful little gun. To say I'm very impressed would be an understatement! I put about 100 rounds through it and it performed flawlessly with zero malfunctions. I'm extremely pleased with it. It's a definite keeper. I'm still carrying my PM9 but wouldn't be a bit surprised if this one found it's way into my pocket holster on occasion! :D

I just picked mine up Good Friday, only shot one mag thru it and I love it. Just the right size and power for a small ccw.:):)

+1 for this!:)

I've been a revolver guy for 40+ years. I read all the praise about the Shield and reluctantly decided to try one... I bought a 9mm, handled and shot it. I'm now a believer!

The purchase set me off in a temporary new direction and I find myself exploring new "bottom feeders" every day. As we speak I have a 9mm being shipped for my wife and a 40 en-route for me.

Of those tested so far the Shield is the hands down favorite. I've added a Laser-Max to mine (still on the fence with that addition) and bought a couple of 9 round magazines for it.

I'm also evaluating a couple of other brand models that are currently receiving high praise. An XDs 45 ACP and a Ruger LCP 380. I do wish the Shield was offered in a 45ACP....

If you're still "on the fence" like I was don't hesitate to buy a Shield in either caliber. This gun is sure to become an all-time S&W classic and it is earning its acclaim.

Just sayin'

I carried an LCP for about a year or so and found it to be very compact and easy to conceal. The two things that eventually turned me in another direction was the snappy recoil and the terrible, for me, trigger pull. Too long and would bind up with my finger at the rear of the pull, causing accuracy to diminish. :( I was amazed at how much less the perceived recoil was on the PM9. Of course, it wasn't until later that the Shield hit the market. I'm also impressed with the perceived lack of recoil, and the accuracy and controllability of the Shield. Great job S&W!! :)

That's the kind of post I like to see! I can't wait to get mine.

Me too. :D I never had any second thoughts about the Shield and have had mine almost over a year. Zero issues. S&W has an outstanding reputation and takes great care of us if needed.

It does get old listening to the negitive and I can see why some get second thoughts.

Nice reading a "Happy Camper" post for a change.
