Part # of S&W OEM case for M&P .40 with VTAC sights

I bought my gun over the weekend and it did not come with a case. I got the 2 mags, the 2 grips and the handgun, but no case, manual or lock.

I downloaded the manual in PDF form online.

I plan to register the gun online as wll today.

But, I really wanted the case, so I called the customer service.

The p/n is 42074 and price is $11.94 + shipping. Pretty decent price.

I hope this helps someone else in my situation!

whats the deal with that? was it a dealer or individual because it sounds like the guy took the case manual and lock for himself or to resell separately or use for another gun.

to me that's no different then taking a mag out as well so if it were me I would demand the store pay for the case that is part of the product you paid for. if it was from an individual then I hope you got a discounted price to make up for it.

you sure you didn't get a rental or used gun passed off as new?

keakar - He was an old dude and had a TON of guns there. He said he didn't bring it to the show by accident. He said he will be back in June for the next show and that he would bring it with, but I have little faith. He could surprise me, I suppose.

Now, my friend and father-in-law both looked at it and confirmed it had not been fired. I guess they could be wrong and this guy could have cheated me, I suppose.

But, I paid $125 below retail, not saying that justifies his actions by any means...

ok well then have you thought about asking him to just mail the case & other stuff to you? granted its not a huge expense to buy but it sounds like he has it somewhere and doesn't need it.

I don't see how they could determine that, because S&W fires a full magazine (well, maybe not completely full, but definitely more than a few rounds) through each gun before it leaves the factory. A good cleaning, and you'd never know a gun with 1000 rds through it had been fired.

I did ask. He said he does not trust the postal system. I plan to call and ask him in a week or so if he did find it and if I can pick it up some weekend. Be fine to have a spare.

True - They felt like the slide etc all seemed tight and in good shape and such. I am not an expert and a n00b, so I took their word. But, I see what you are saying as well. If he did cheat me, Karma will get him back or so I hope.
