What Kind of Hat is That?

Have to agree, even as an East Coast retired cop - that's a weird hat.

I think the absolute best is a properly worn campaign hat with a perfectly flat brim.
It only looks good on guys that are in shape and with close-cropped hair or shaved head.
Look terrible on fatties, women, and afro hairstyles.

What?

I learned a while back not to mock another LE agency. In particular, the lid of one who outranks you.

Texas is having a bad day and you should shush.

(Check your governor's plea if you are not cognizant.)

Be safe.

The patrol cap I saw in the photos...With the scrambled eggs on the bill,

looked like the stiff liner had been remover and the sides kinda drooped down.

Not as sharp looking as, an officer of rank should be wearing, I'd think,

in this country anyway....more fashionable in some eastern block countries

Just watched the press conference after the capture. Now all of the talking heads are telling me what I heard. Yes indeed that is one strange looking piece of headgear.

The 50 mission crush could be made by ear phones pressing in over the hat over many missions or for we mere mortals by removing the rubber grommet inside the hat.

Well I know it's not a stupid hat. A stupid hat is pointed and is worn while sitting in the corner.

Yeah, I was thinking about this myself. No wonder those Boston cops are pissed - I would be too if I had to wear a dufus lid such as the droopy thing-a-ma-jig seen on TV.

I just figured it HAD to be tradition as there is no other element of human existence than can endure time and repeated humiliation with a smile on its face, other than tradition.

And if we want to talk about overweight as well as lids, don't pick on the LEOs as there are LOTS of out of shape folks in the private sector (read: civilians, pleebs, etc.) as well.

Remember the blue bow ties the CHP had to wear years ago? For awhile the los angeles county sheriffs dept had to wear helmits driveing cars.
I liked it when my guard dept finaly gave up the old 9 point texaco filling station hat and let us wear baseball caps. I still have one of them. They even issued pyth helmits to us in hot weather.

LEO Headgear

I only meant strange in that it is so different and is the only one visible in the hundreds and hundreds of various LEO's participating in this tour de force.
You didn't notice the other officers not in SWAT gear, all their headgear is similar to the Colonels.

That character lived in our area when we lived in california. Around acton.

No matter how they looked, and how disgusting Mass. law can be....Darned if they didn't get the job done....Sadley the lives lost were the fault on only two people......One is in Hell as we speak, hopefully the other will follow in due time...I have been retired for over 10 years now and I was amazed at the progress the technical side of investigations have progressed.....Good Job guys......Prayers for those who paid the ultiment price for these implanted murderers. Now the real question is.......How did these scum get their weapons and who showed them how to cause such a murderous rampage....Maybe we need to revisit our appearent lack of laws controlling who we invite with open arms to share our freedom and resources......Something very wrong is going on.....Just my opinion!!
