... got to find that happy medium sweet spot..

Success! I cut the corners off and bent the end of the tube down and now it works with S&W 25, ProMag 32 and BD 50 round drum.

This thing is great, it's almost as satisfying to load rounds in to the drum as it is to empty them with the trigger.

The road to success was a little bumpy and took some trial and error, well more error  if I'm honest. After cutting the corners and making some minor tweaks I put the tube back in the receiver and it wasn't bent enough so I tried to bend it a little more, mistake one, it folded completely over. Of course now you can't get it out to straighten it but after working at it a while I was able to extract the tube and then used a pen to make it round and straight(ish) again. It took a few more attempts to get it working with all my magazines but it finally came together.

The aluminum is very soft which is a good thing for repeat bending but I can tell it's near fracture now so I hope it doesn't need too much future adjustment. I also made the receiver a little loose with all the in/out's and am considering some epoxy or minimally silicone caulk to hold it all in place (what do you guys think?).

ok great! thats good to see you got it to work on all 3, that was what i was wondering,,as it should in theory,,

as far as the glue, i have experimented with epoxy, but it don't like to stick to smooth plastic,, i found taking a glue stick from a hot glue gun and heating it on the stove then,
dabbing it up inside from the bottom works, if you still want to remove the tube with out gluing.\

take a marker and mark the tube right at the cap on the flare side/remove the tube, and using something hard like the handle part of a screw driver, to tap the tube where it would touch the plastic at the wholes to oblong the diameter //you only have to oval the diam a few thousands to tighten it up ,
and then it will fit tight again and can still be removed or adjusted.

i think the problems with the tube will all be solved with the brass tube and with better consistency on manufacturing ,, the whole drill angle and tube cut areas most if not all the issues should be solved,,also i think as this develops integrating the tube into the mag cap // either molding it as one piece or as a metal insert will help too.
its going to interesting to see this develop!

i really appreciate all the testers input and hands on experiences. this really would have been a nightmare if they were being sold as is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works great after playing with... I think speedy covered just about everything... great job skunk... telling all 15-22 shooters at the range about it and friends... good review agin speedy...

A clip slams shells into a magazine, cylinder or other device for speed of reload. A magazine holds shells, ready to feed into battery. The difference is what it is. I would want this or some other speed loader if I was shooting 1000's of rounds daily. It would probably get bent in my taC bag in transportation though, I would leave it home. LOL, JMO

Skunkwerkz,

Thank you for sending me this loader and the T-Shirt!!! The loader works awesome and i have been able to load my 50 round drums and standard mags FLAWLESSLY! This design is far superior to the other ratcheting loader on the market as it does not damage the rounds nor jam. I am truely impressed how this K.I.S.S. design is really the most effective of all! Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing any improvements that may develop!

This weekend I shot 8 drums and 16 stand. mags worth (800 rounds) loaded by the Skunkwerkz loader and not a single feed issue!

Thanks again!!!

Well, it was a busy afternoon ...

One son, two grandsons (ages 9 and 16), three 15-22s, 1,000 rounds of ammo, 15 25-round magazines, 9 10-round shorties, a bag of cans and other assorted targets and a Stinkin' Good Loader - and me.

While the two kids and my son were shooting, I was busy keeping magazines filled. As long as I didn't get in too big a rush, everything went fine and I managed to keep up with their shooting ...most of the time. :)

My son took over the reloading duty for a little bit so the grandsons could outshoot me and had no problems after a couple of trial runs.

All in all, a great afternoon and a good workout for the loader.

well you go right ahead and push the "bullets" in one "bullet" at a time...i'll use the speed loader and extend my shooting pleasure...lol

protective tube

note: i have been researching an inexpensive tube to store the feed tube in for transportation and storage, i have a few leads and still looking for the perfect things to incorporate in the kit, and will most likely be included in the final product.
although the brass tube is made from a nice sturdy brass,,,

ps how many people out there have sat on their scopes and cracked them? or are you just careful with it?

this is the reason for the beta testing ,, to work out final details
and collect information on what is important to the end user so i can address each problem before final production,
and have received lots of good intel that i have over looked or is important to others!
so any input is good input!

Got a late invite to the party, but so far I agree with all previous reviews.
I unpacked my sample, inserted an empty factory mag into the holder
until the mag catch lug to prevent over-insertion made contact, and
then installed the bullet tube so that the bullet hood was about 2mm
off the magazine feed lips and oriented correctly. Dropped a load of
my referred .22 blazer ammo into the hopper (which chris had already
modified with the relief cuts on either side of the discharge chute),
aligned the bullet tube at the end and slid about half a trough length
of cartridges over the edge and into the bullet tube. Didn't do it
fast, but I didn't go slow either...

The first round dropped correctly into position in the mag, so I just
tilted the combined unit back until the tube was about 45*, pulled
down on the mag's load assist button and the entire tube of cartridges
loaded correctly my very first time. I refilled the tube with what was left in the of the trough of bullets and these finished topping off the mag to capacity without a hitch.

The main body of the loader which holds the tube and magazine in
proper relation to each other is well made and injection molded of
what appears to be a durable polymer. And just like everyone else, I
identifed the soft aluminum bullet tube as a problematic item...but
since a material change is already in the works, there is not much
else to talk about.

Simply said...what is available as the first release of the stinkin'
good loader works as promised...

I watched the instructional video, kept everything that was, and has
been discussed, here in mind, and I loaded my first mag perfectly with
the stinkin' good loader...and the second...et. al.
Only when I started to "experiment" did I get any malfunctions...i.e.
pushing bullets to fast out of the trough, tilting at angles more and
less than 45*, and trying different distances of the bullet hood away
from the magazine feed lips...ultimately I reset everything to my
initial adjustments because if it works, don't fix it.

Issues with transporting the loader, especially the tube, I consider
an end user issue as everyone has their on kit load-out package but I
applaud chris for trying to address this from a manufacturer's total
packaging/marketing direction...but I think the stronger (brass?)
bullet drop tube will eliminate 90% of the beta release complaints.

My only other comments I've communicated with chris concerns
streamlining manufacture and "bullet proofing" parts that currently
may need continued adjustment or tweeking because of the nature of
assembly.
