Is this possible? Started off with the one 25 rd that came with the 15-22. More 25 or 10 rd were not available at the time, so I got three PT 35rd mags. A few weeks ago I bit the bullet and bought two new 10 rd mags that I admit a paid a little bit over retail for. Now today, two new 25 rd mags show up that I ordered two weeks ago. Now all my mag pouches are full on my gun case. But wait...I ordered two more 10 rd mags when they became available last week at Midway which are suppose to be here tomorrow. So that makes three 25 rd, three 35 rd, and four 10 rd mags....

So what the hell am I going to do with TEN mags???

I think most of us have more than we really need at this point. I too got wrapped up in the frenzy.

You can never have too many magazines. The rifle is worthless without the magazine to feed ammo. I'm sure a magazine ban will be back on the list next year so I would hold onto whatever you have. I'm tempted to start hoarding a bit so I can be one of the guys selling mags on GunBroker for $100.

I wonder how much of the spark in the economy was as a result of gun and magazine sales. I know I purchased my share of new guns, magazines and ammo.

Is 10 too many? Depends upon your level of shooting. If you only shoot a couple of hundred rounds at a session, perhaps. If you go through 500+ or shoot in competitions, 10 may not be enough, unless you like wasting time at the range reloading magazines, when you could do it in the comfort of your own home. :)

I have 11 25-rounders and 5 10-rounders, and when the insanity slows down, will pick up another 5 shorties.

As others have said, there is no such thing as too many magazines or too much ammo. Also, magazines do not last forever; spares are always a good idea. :)

PS - my 9-year old grandson has eight, 4 25s and 4 10s. The same for my 16-year old grandson.

You can never have to many mags! :D

I have dozens of mags for my AR and I have well over a dozen mags for the 15-22 w/ plans on getting more.

More than likely, any future mag purchases will go into an ammo can for future use or as a buffer to any future attacks on their availability.

I had the same scenario. I started with the oem 25, added 1 more 25 oem. Then I started buying pairs of 25's until I got it to 10. I then got 2 32 promags and tomorrow I will get 1 10's from Midway. So all in all 10 25's, 2 10's and 2 32's. But last time I went shooting it was so nice to shoot and not having to reload once. Also think that if you shoot 200 rounds with 2 magazines you rotated them 4 times, with 8 magazines you rotated them once. So I think the magazines will last you longer. Just my 2 cents. I think if I saw another sale at midway I might pick up another pair :) ... Waiting for that reloading tool skunkworkz is working on :D

I have 8 25rd, 2 10rd longs, and 2 10 shorts on the way. can never have to many really, nice to shoot a brick without reloading, I am making sure I have enough for all my weapons incase of another shortage.

Hey I got 10 30 round mags each for my AR-15's + a high capacity mag,10, 25 round mags for my 15-22. 10 seems to be my number. Three to four mags each for my pistols, I got caught years ago by not buying extra mags, have a pistol with one mag and they no longer make them never happen again. Now I haven't bought any at inflated prices and bought most before the madness. Better to have too many then not enough, remember after you buy them they don't cost you anything sitting there and at least you have them so if you have the money go for it. Like others have said it's better to load them at home and shoot at the range then sit there and reload, especially if you pay by the hour.

I wonder how long the feed lips will last on a 15-22 mag.

Also remember you might have pre bans if it comes to that again.

I have 4 25 round factory, 6 32 round pro mags, and now 1 10 round short factory mags. I firmly believe in having enough mags. I use the pro mags in steel challenge, it's nice to not have to reload during a stage if I'm doing good.

10 is not that many mags at all for a rifle. I'm not even sure how many 15-22 mags I have, but more than 10.

How do you like the Plinkers? Mine has issues so I don't use it.

Mags have a lifespan, and while most will last a LONG time, there will be some that are dropped and break, get lost/stolen, wear out, etc.

As someone stated, we can almost count on another run happening on mags/ammo or even an outright ban on high capacity mags. I'm not getting stuck in a position where I'll be another sheep in the herd looking for mags in ammo the next time this happens.

I say have enough for what you need and then however many more you feel comfortable with to put away for a "rainy day".

I agree with everyone here, you can't have too many. I have 3 25 round factory mags, 5 32 round pro mag mags and 1 Black Dog 50 round drum for my 15-22. I also have 8 19 round mags for my 9mm.

I have absolutely no worries with the Plinkers I have. I attribute that to the way I load them. Every shell staggers the way it should. Maybe I should make a video LOL.

Well.....ya could sell me a couple of those 10rd mags....that way us ppl over on the eastern side of KY could have a couple....!!!!

There is an Eastern KY???

Sell the 3 PT mags and then you'll have 7. :) I've never used them but from what I've seen on these boards they do not function reliably and consistently. If they work fine now that's great. I've put thousands of rounds through my S&W mags with hardly a hiccup.

I think I have about 12, five 25 rounders that get used regularly, 2 10 shorts for an appleseed I am going to, and 5 10 longs for when the 25's where out, or a rainy day.
