Current Direct TV Customers

i have had cable ,dish, and currently Directv, best choice in rockport,tx,,if uverse were available i would use them,,kids in houston and sn antonio like it better....Wish they would have a flat rate and let you pick 25-30 channels, they sure have a lot of stuff i neer watch

I got rid of Direct tv basically because we were not watching it. With the military channel there is only so many ways you can do Hitler, then you go to some sort of shooting things that are inane. The History channel was worse. Und zo, got rid of Direct, and bought a digital antenna that gets 14 or so channels from Madison (WI). About 50 miles away.
Problem was trying to get away-after being told over the years that we could not get the 'pay per view' as the box wasn't hooked up to a phone line we turned in the box and they 'found' three movies that were somehow in the box. One of the movies we saw in a theater, and we never even heard of the other two. Got some sort of runaround about how indeed you could order movies w/o the phone hook up. Funny thing that they were all in one month.
Didn't pay-all of $15, but a fella has to do whats right.

My aunt in Georgia (Middle Georgia) has Direct TV she loves it she's been a customer of Direct TV for a long time only time she had a complaint about them is when they sent out a technician that took him 3 days to install the dish for HD TV.

My only complaint is that even partly cloudy skies is often enough to block my signal. Also when OIA is routing planes in from the west I get periodical pixilation from split second signal blockage. They're cheaper than Brighthouse but the underground cable works in all weather.

Being as far south as Florida, I can only believe you had a serious dish alignment problem. Did you ever run a strength test on a clear day? Your reading should have been very high (90's) on all birds. Did you ever have them come check your install. Another signal issue can by caused by reuse of RG59 cable, AKA Lazy Installer. Trees and other organic matter can affect signal too.

nope, nothing there either time...two different houses...signal is/was around 95% at both locations...the slightest little rain, dusting of snow would put the signal out with direct tv...i've never had to clean snow off of the dish satellite...it was in the same place at the first house...the direct tv tech said there was nothing wrong, nothing blocking it, nothing they could do...

You've been reading my mind this is the exact reason I am going with Comcat today...I put up with signal losses and the tech saying there is nothing wrong, nothing blocking it, nothing can be done...

Had the service tech out to the house on Thursday because I am only receiving local programing. He checked the system and said it was fine. I said come in the house and show me how get a channel I am paying for that isn't local and he could not & just left.

That statement hit the nail on the head!

That's why we pay $8.00 a month for Netflix!

Direct TV keeps sending us great offers to renew. I put those in the file I keep under the sink.

Any provider that offers the Kardashians should be removed from the airways by some governing body. I don't care what company it is.

I suggest DTV subscribers join www.dbstalk.com It's the SWF of satellite :)

Redo your satellite setup in the system settings menu and the log into your DTV account and reauthorize your dish. If you don't want to do it that way, call tech support and ask them to reauthorize. Your channels will show up. If that doesn't work, call in and ask for a customer retention representative. At all times remember, more flies with honey :)

DTV -> My Account -> My Equipment -> Refresh My Services

I've been a DirecTV installer for 8yrs.
Pro tip, if you don't like what your hearing on the phone from a dtv rep then hang up and call back. With every big company there are people who are willing to help you and people who just seem to not give a ****.
I had to call back 5x just to get my brother a free hd dvr upgrade.

For those of you who get a ****ty tech out to your house that cant/won't fix a problem you should call directv and ask for 2 things. Open up a case management service call for you house is and to send an in-house tech to comes out.

If you experience problems within 90 days of a case mng svc call the will open up a case2 for free. The job will get quality checked and the next tech will do his best to fix it believe me. If there is another problem within the next 90days of our last visit it becomes a dreddid case 3. DirecTV corporate has his eyes on that job and wants to know everything that was done. the technician and the supervisor will come out with there *** on the line.

You should expect great signal at all times. If you do not have a clear picture at all time then it can be fixed 100% of the time.

Oh and I would agree with that kardashian statement if you switch that show out with Bill mares. I hate that ****ing guy.
