I think they are real simply because there are too many sightings reported by people. The Indians have stories of them in their history as well. There is some serious physical evidence such as photos, movies, hair, fecal matter, footprints, handprints and even a body imprint. All of this has been studied by scientists. They all agree that it comes from something unknown to science. All they can do is guess at what type of animal the evidence points to. The reality is that it will take a body to make science and the public believe that these animals exist. I hate to say it but that is the reality. I would like to see one but I would not kill it.
I suggest using one of the new infrared cameras with the blackout technology and placing the camera up a tree about 20 feet angled down on trail. I think you might get some good pics of one that way. I think it is so in tune with its surroundings that it picks up the horizontal strap tied around a tree that usually marks a camera. This is just my opinion. If you are looking for him be careful, you might just find him.
