Who's your favorite TV "Top Cop"?

Can't believe no one has put up T.J. Hooker yet! Troglodytes. ;)

My vote for best looking:

Without a doubt.... Peter Falk as Colombo.

Yep. And two others--Andy Griffith and the Defective Detective, Adrian Monk. The Monk show reminds me a bit of Colombo. Add Barney Miller to the list.

I can't tolerate any of the serious "procedural" cop shows. Most are so utterly overwrought and overwritten they're comical. The Griffith show, Miller and Monk are comical too, but I'm pretty sure they were meant to be. They're likely more realistic as well.

Jim Marsh from the short-lived "High Incident" show and Bumper Morgan as played by William Holden in the TV Mini Series "The Blue Knight". When it comes to westerns I will go with Heck Ramsey as played by Richard Boone and Stuart Whitman playing Sheriff Jim Crown in "Cimarron Strip"

I liked the Blue Knight too. It wasn't William Holden, it was George Kennedy.

I also really liked Rock Hudson (Don't even go there:eek:) in McMillan and Wife.

Yep, there are too many to list them all but I have to agree with Columbo and Monk.

Dan Mathews, Unit "21-50" in Highway Patrol. His S&W six shot revolver could always shoot more than that without reloading. Hip shots never missed. His 2-way radio always worked whether or not he was speaking into the microphone from the correct side, and sometimes without even pushing the talk switch! Saw some re-runs a few years ago...seemed kind of corny then. 10-4, Over and Out.....

I used to watch him everyday after school. He always had to stop the car to talk on the radio.
