I found these while helping a relative dig through his fathers gun stuff.Any info would be appreciated.

I believe the grips to be aftermarket as they have no markings whatsoever.I am guessing N frame but don't know.

The holster seems awful small and is an old safariland model 18 with S&W on the holster.I don't have a j frame to try so I will see if my Taurus 85,Charter .44,or Colt detective special fit.

The holster looks like it accommodates a five shot cylinder, so it's for a 2" Model 36 or Model 37.

The stocks are factory presentation targets from the early to mid 1980's. They look like K frame stocks to me, but it's hard to tell from your photo.

The easiest way to distinguish K frame and N frame stocks (short of trying them on a gun) is to look at the length of the wood shoulder from the circle insert (washer) to the backstrap.
This photo shows the difference; K on the left, N on the right.

Good to know.

Never knew that. Thanks.

I would say you are right. They appear to be K frame. That is why I asked here.My S&W knowledge is limited to say the least.

Care to hazard a guess on value for either?

I have an old 1983 SAafariland catalog, it shows the model 18 holster. 2" belt loop and available for 2" Charter, 2" Colt d-frame, 2" S&W j-frame, 2" S&W k-frame, & 2-3/4" Ruger. Black or brown, lined or unlined. Looks about like a Bianchi #5BH. Safariland made a couple other similar holsters but they were of two-piece construction instead of one-piece wraparound-- the model 17 & model 29.

Thanks for the info guys. The stocks will likely be sold but the holster will stay.
