What Does "Tactical" Mean To You?

Unfortunately, when I hear "Tactical" I immediately think expensive, gimmicky and largely inaccurate....... much like "Zombie" anything.

Tactical means black (or "coyote tan" these days) and overpriced. It's became nothing more than a bit a jargon and a marketing ploy.

In reality being tactical is about the software not the hardware. You can be tactical with a lever gun and a revolver and you can be a complete cluster with the latest plastic fantastic and AR.

To be truly tactical... requires that your gear have the basic characteristics of what it is to be tactical...

1. Black
2. Plastic... LOTS of plastic.
3. Rails... LOTS of rails.
4. Batteries.
5. Muzzle device... fake or real... (fake is better)

Without these fundamental characteristics... you just ain't tactical.

This IS tactical.

The over-use of the word 'tactical' in the common vernacular outside of the military, to me, means we have been in a constant state of conflict for far too long.

The clippy thingy is for the static line... low altitude tactical dog training.

AHA! I GOT IT! It's one of those Bluetooth earpieces! I sure am slow. :(

I see it's in Tactical Black. Just the thing for hands free wireless operation. All the high speed low drag Elite Tactical Operators are using 'em. I'm sure it also comes in handy for maintaining comms while utilizing the high strength Tactical baggies. :D

Here's my late night tactical gear.

Wanna guess what it's for?...

To me, it means a bunch of 'cool' stuff for the soldier-of-fortune wanna be. I'm interested in target shooting, not combat. I haven't seen any tactical gear for bullseye shooters yet.

Oh, it's out there. But the buyers aren't really bullseye shooters. Although they got all the gear. Flat black or cammo of course. (Plus a gilly suit) Generaly they prefer to call themselves "tactical snipers."
