Doomsday Nut Case

Only 100 cans of soup? I got that beat. :p :D but of course it was all Preparations for hurricane season. I do it every year. I can stay with ya on the ammo too. ;)

And I get to spend the next year eatin' soup and beanie weenie and Dinty Moore and...well you see what I mean. If every thing falls right the SHTF will happen just after I've stocked up for hurricane season. But the way my luck runs It'll pro'lly happen the day before I was gonna go get all that stuff.

Heh heh, actually, I have more than 100 cans of soup if you count the larger cans I have to replace frequently because I go through 1-2 cans of those a week. My favorites being Sirloin Burger--Vegetable and Cheeseburger soups. Im also a Dinty Moore guy when im too tired to actually cook. Beanie Weenies--I usually get a 1 gal can of Bush's baked beans and a pack of 8--ball park franks (only beef) cut each dog into about 16 slices-mix w/ the beans, and I get fiber overload for a week. :D Actually, I make that much but freeze most of it so I dont get:eek: fiber overload.

Nothing stupid about having emergency supplies but this is a bit overboard in my opinion. Also, nothing stupid about teaching kids survival skills but don't think teaching 2 and 3 yr old kids to be "apex predators" is such a good idea.

I wouldn't want to be living in a large town if things get real bad!
City people might have it rough if food and supplies are cut off for a long time? Guess it might be hard to live off the fat of the land.. when the land is asphalt!
It's already to the point people are thinking about stockpiling liquor!
Many are dependant on outside sources for their every need...
you better learn more than how to make fire!!

These people have forgotten (or likely never knew) the #1 most important survival supply you can have - - proven year after year by people in rural parts of the country where 'natural disaster' is just another word for 'weather.'

Flood, tornado, blizzard, drought, there's one thing that will get you further longer than any other disaster resource.

Excellent relations with reliable neighbors.

When I read the part about this guy supporting the government and this POTUS fully....followed by being a predator willing to cause harm to his neighbors for his own purposes, the whole story made perfect sense suddenly.

Would YOU criticize Dear Leader on a television show? If so, hope yer taxes are in order... ;)

JMHO but Prepping is a long way from Doing. I.e. I wonder how many preppers would really have what it takes to execute the robbing, killing and abandonment of civilized life it might take to survive in a post apocalyptic world. Could they shoot a neighbor over a loaf of bread? Could they then leave that neighbors three yr old child to starve to death after they did? Could they really shut off all they have been taught about common decency and social responsibility?

Unfortunately I have absolutely no problem believing that people are 100% capable of doing exactly that

I Believe most people are like that. Only thing keeping them from acting on this is the law and no reason

I read a lot of survivalist stuff back in the 70s and ealy 80s. Drank a little of the Koolaid, but then I woke up. So tell me how society and the economy is supposed to completely break down, and everyone becomes desperate animals running in packs? Sounds like a good way to make a lot of money off of paranoid suckers.

I wonder what would actually happen if there was no electricity for a few days or a few weeks. I watched a National Geographic show recently, American Blackout. The full two hour show is on youtube.

Hey "choo-choo", you don't remember the Blizzard of '93!?:D

We lost power for over a week.. ate real good with food in the freezer warming up! We switched to wood and propane.

I had no power in the cold for over a week. We survived. I ran on battery erred lights and my gas engine welder for 4k of power. I have wood heat.

When the zombies attack you'll find me standing in my yard, ankle deep in brass, the bodies of the rioters, outlaw motorcycle gang members, crazed tweakers, (insert name of evildoers here) stacked like cordwood against my fence in the predawn mist, with the girls from the Hooters restuarant down the street huddled behind me and asking me to father their children. :D

They've got 9mm and "45mm" handguns?! That there is some serious firepower. I can't imagine even a mild load in a 45mm, much less a +P

I want some of what he's drinking!!:D

He once had a friend shoot at him with rubber bullets while Smith ran through a field. Katie had to pull the bullets out of Smith’s skin using pliers.
“That was the worst, most painful thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,” Smith recalls.

At first I thought these people can't be real. Then I read this and after I stopped laughing till it hurt, I realized there are folks out there that truly redefine stupidity. Joe

As to the last man standing after TEOTW, that's been settled already, it's the dude hangin' out in the library basement!!

Reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode w/ Burgess Merideth, called: Time Enough At Last??

I'm just surprised to see somebody take Biden's defense weapon suggestion to heart.

I miss MRE's. The wife has managed to thwart me from purchasing them for many years.
