Today while on my way home from the range, I happened to pull up behind a Chevy Volt at the traffic light. On the right side of his bumper he had an "English D" (Detroit Tigers), and on the left....the Glock logo.

When the light changed I pulled up beside him on the right and glanced over. The driver (only passenger) was a ~60 year old man.

I thought to myself -"Don't think it's a good idea to advertise that there may be a gun in the car". That's almost an invitation to some observant criminal that you're holding his next stick-up gun for him! any similar experiences?

I thought about taking and posting a picture, but didn't want to post his license plate:rolleyes:.

I have a gun sticker on the car. What makes you think a bad guy could get my gun from me?

The point is: It needlessly (IMO) tells people who has gun(s). Maybe someone breaks into the car (or house) when no one is in it, looking for the "advertised" gun.

I don't know how intentional that bumper sticker was. I have seen countless amounts of vehicles with NRA stickers with 75+ drivers. But having said that, I personally don't like the idea of inviting others to know if I'm carrying. I guess it's all personal choice

You must be mistaken about the Glock logo. Tree hugging greenies aren't exactly known for carrying guns. The logo must have been for Perfection Locks.

I know you were being humorous. Pretty good at it, too.:D

Truth be told, many of us are trying to shake the "Racist Angry Old White Guy" stereotype that's all too prevalent when the 2A discussion comes up. I welcome our kinder, gentler brethren to the fold every chance I get.

My gun's not in the car. It's on me. I don't think a bad guy is going to think I'm storing a gun in my car.

However, I do have such a sign also on my house. It's not an invitation - it's a warning.

Felons are always on the lookout for how to obtain a handgun (since they can't buy them legally).

Two cars parked side by side. Which is MOST likely to have a gun inside; the unmarked one? or the one with the GLOCK/NRA/USCCA etc sticker?

My house has no signs either. I don't want to warn them! Come on in - they'll find out soon enough.

I'm not into giving free advertising for anyone, but a Glock sticker is just as likely to tell the BG to move on to the next vehicle as not.

I have no stickers on my car and never wear any clothing with firearm or NRA logos.

+1^^^^ Me neither. No bumper stickers, no ball caps or trademark clothing, No "We don't dial 911" signs on or around the house. That said, my VVA chapter jacket probably gets me written off as a psycho gun nut.

These days the less advertising - the better. I don't even wear some of my beautiful logo'd sweatshirts than I bought many years ago.

I don't advertise on my cars either.

"Do you really want to advertise that?"

I think the Detroit Tigers logo would be most embarrassing....
with that huge payroll and nothing to show for it! ;)

My pickup (company owned) has such a large back window it begs for stickers
Mine has
small Browning Buckmark logo
Leupold crosshair sticker
AND
5.56 sticker
I keep no guns inside it
