I am losing interest in my 15-22 because it is a lot like my wife of 19 years...it does everything I want it to do, without asking.

My wife does my laundry without having being told to.
My 15-22 hits all the targets I point it at.

My wife feeds me.
My 15-22 keeps me happy by working every time I pull the trigger.

My wife gives me good loving.
My 15-22 is like the sexy cheerleader in high school, everybody wants to touch it.

Never ask for ruin with a good thing my friend be it and oustanding rifle or an outstanding woman. 2¢ paid :)

P.S. I'll hold my 15-22 'til I die...now to find a woman I can say the same about. Lol

I'll take the Wife!

We celebrated (i lamented) our 30 year anniversary this past November. I keep telling her i'm going to trade her in for 25 y/o twins!

In your case, i would keep the gun no matter what....women are replaceable, the gun may not be in the future!

Nope, not going to touch that one. ;)

I was deep into a bottle of Jack during that post and when I got married.

It's just that my 15-22 just works all the time. There aren't any surprises with it. I shoot it and it hits the target. I've been contemplating on taking the scope off to make hitting targets a little more challenging. Talk about reliable, it has in excess of 15,000 rounds through it. I couldn't of bought a better rifle. As for the wife, the jury is still out. :-)

DelFuego,
As for the rifle, trade up to a 5.56. You'll love it just as much as the 15-22, but there'll be more "BANG" when you slip your finger over the trigger. Think of it as your dear wife, with certain "saline/Silicone" enhancements - still the same lovely wife - just more of her! Speaking of the wife, she sounds like a keeper - as in, better keep her from reading this on S&W Forum!!!

I know this is old but.....

Reloading the 15 22 is easy and fun! :D
Reloading the prostate is harder the older I get!
But Hey, what fun it is! ;)

Time for something different (in the way of a .22). Lot's of vintage rimfires out there in lever, semi, pump, bolt, single shot, falling block etc. to spice up your boring life ... Just hope your wife decides to keep YOU!

I have quite a few guns and tend to buy another whenever the politicians start opening their mouths, so my collection has grown quite a bit in the last decade. I have to say, after recently picking up a 15-22, that it was the first gun I purchased in a LONG time that really brought a smile to my face. Light, accurate and a fast shooter.

I spent most of the day at the range and went through hundreds of rounds for maybe $20. Guys with their 5.56, 7.62 and .338 rigs were in and out in 30 minutes. Cheap fun!

So... Bottom line up front.. I have 3 15-22s, one integrally suppressed (for the wife).

We don't shoot them much anymore. Accurate, light and fun. All true.

I have several AR-15 SBR lowers. A couple in 9mm (IMHO - more fun than the 15-22.. a suppressed 9mm shorty carbine is ALMOST as inexpensive as a 22lr).

I purchased a CMMG 9" barrel and bolt to put on one of the SBRs. Coupled with a "Better Mag" 15-22 magazine well block (Better-Mag S&W(R) .22 Rimfire Magazine Adaptor), I can use the 15-22 magazines in my AR-15 SBR. The barrel and suppressor tuck nicely under the handguard (the suppressor sticks out about 1/2".. :) The handguard never gets warm.

The 15-22 is a GREAT firearm. I like my SBR more... :)

Good news is that your not married to the rifle so you can always get rid of it (or get another to keep it company).
The wife would be an altogether different (and expensive) discussion :-)
