22 ammo price

CCI mini mags 100 rd for $7.47 at three WalMarts within 15 miles of my house. Probably will pick up three boxes today.

One of my local Walmart stores actually had 22 ammo in stock yesterday but they were .22 Shorts. They wanted $4.97/50 rounds of 22 Shorts but I didn't buy any!!!

Gone are the days a 50 round box of .22LR was 79 cents and the Shorts were only 49 cents...

I haven't seen 22 ammo at Walmart for many months. A group of guys seem to know when the ammo comes in and they buy it all.

....

If I were you and I wanted 22 LR, I'd buy one of these "guys" a cup of coffee and find out when the ammo comes in.

Well my hat is off to a fellow S&W forum member that recently sold me five 525rd bricks of 22LR at $30/brick, or 5.7-cents/rd. And THAT included shipping to Texas from one of the coasts, and obviously no sales tax. Taking off my local sales tax rate brings the cost down to just 5.28-cents/rd. VERY reasonable during these panicked times.

THANK YOU! :D:D:D

I was PM'd with their offer, so out of respect I haven't shared their name, not knowing if they wanted others to know. Would hate to have them inundated with requests, if you know what I mean

Hey horizontalmike it ok to tell them I sold you the 22lr ammo. I'm not out to rip off anyone I had some extra to part with to help our s&w brothers out here. I was taught to share if I have extra. Bigbill

Stumbled on some CCI Mini-Mag .22 at a local WM early this morning. Occasionally I find 100 round boxes of 9mm left over from the night before, but never before have I found .22.

It was $7.47 a box here in SW Missouri.

National retailers aren't charging more than before December 2012 with a reasonable cost of inflation bump. Minimags at Walmart last November were $6.97/100. Now Walmart charges $7.47/100. That's a reasonable increase. Also, last week I found 50 boxes of Thunderbolts at a regional farm/ag supply store for $2.29 ea. That shows the manufacturers are only passing on a reasonable increase for the cost of manufacture. The problem is hoarders stripping the shelves to resell a $2.29 box at $6.00.

That $2.99 box there--is between $10-$16 here @scalpers prices while when WM and Academy get them in is about $.2.99-$3.49.

Once a dealer does the price gouging, I will no longer deal with them. I view them as dishonest & unethical.

I arrived at Wal-Mart at 05:00 in the middle of a snow storm and -0- degree temperature to buy .22 ammo. Two 100 boxes of Winchester Super X = $8.37 each, one 1,000 box of Winchester M-22 for $50.87. That is UP $4.00 from 4 months ago. There were 5 others there for the same ammo, but I was first in line.
The M-22 is being offered, and bid in, at more than 2 times that price on Gun Broker. Absolutely astounding that anyone would pay over a $100.00 + $20.00 shipping for what you can get at Wal-Mart for less than 1/2 that much.

PS: I watch my iPhone Wal-Mart app and when the kind of ammo I want comes in, I get there early to get the one box allowed and 2 others if any available. Do other food shopping too.

I haven't seen any 22 in my area Walmarts for over a year.

At the gun show Saturday I picked up a couple of hundred rounds of Winchester HV at 10 cents a round (4 boxes of 50 for $20). That seems to be about the going rate around here - except at the ranges where its about 12 cents a round - or $6 a box.

I will throw rocks before I spend these prices on 22 LR
Or bring out the cap and ball out.
We keep feeding the beast and keeping prices up.
Good job guys.

Backordered 5000 rounds of mini mags back on November 9th from midway. They shipped late last week, 7¢ per round delivered.

I saw a Bucket of the Remington Gold Bullets (a bucket of around 1000 rounds) for $175.00 about a month ago. The last bucket I bought last year was around $70. No way for me at this new price.

Local Walmart had Federal Champion 525 rd for $20.97 today. This was the blue box value pack instead of the usual red box 550 rd pack they normally carry. Saw no red box until late last year, but now this Federal bulk seems to be appearing more regularly. Still getting scarfed up though.

Around here i've been finding good .22LR is currently
running at a dime per round at my LGS. Wallyworld
never has it in stock anymore.
I like to pay less but i will buy 100 rds. for 10 bucks
if i need it. But not more than that.
With the near Blizzard we got yesterday i had some time
to do an Inventory of my .22's and 5.56/.223 last night.
I let the wife watch the boob tube and i counted and wrote
down my ammo count.
Sitting at just under 10,000 rds. of .22LR so i'm good for
awhile. I'll still pick it up when i find good prices on the
better ammo.

I make my own 38 Special and 9mm for those prices.

And shoot them, too. :D

Just remember to do two things: 1) DO NOT BUY and 2) REMEMBER WHO THE GOUGERS ARE (and NEVER buy anything from them ever). I know it's hard, but you will always be the "do-ee" in this world if you don't discipline yourself.

I've got 60,000 rounds of 22lr. Why can't the manufactures keep up
with the demand.Manufactures hold there price pretty well.
After that its supply and demand.Retailers charge as much
as they can. I have been finding more primers.Bullets powder
and brass are still hard to get.The primers are winchester
at $29.50 /1000 still at last years price.

I just don't get why everyone complains about local shops being out of stock or too highly priced....you do know gun broker exists right? Of all my weapons/ammo, I have bought only one gun locally, and very little ammo locally. There are very good deals to be had on gun broker if you look hard enough.

Unfortunately the price has jumped on 22 ammo but a lot of what you are seeing is gouging. Like others have said Wal Mart was selling CCI mini mags for around $8/100 last year. I picked up some Remington Golden Bullets at Dick's for $22.95 for 525. My go to match ammo CCI standard velocity has had a big jump. It was $30 a brick early last year then went up to $40 a brick by the end of year. I just bought another brick and it has climbed to $50 a brick. Sadly I have had to cut back on my 22 plinking. I save the good ammo for the matches I compete in and when I plink I rarely shoot over 50-100 rounds. I used to shoot 500 in one Saturday just having fun but I'm afraid I won't be able to replace it now so I go easy on it.
