Not Disappointed with my M&P

I recently bought a M&P 9mm FS. I am not sure what the deal with "reset" is, I squeeze and get a bang. I used the steel sights for a while, then replaced with a set by Trijicon. I am working on trigger discipline; the pistol is more acurate than I am. I had to "work at" removing the grip "pin" to change the palm size to the small size. Once. I haven't used it since. I am pleased S&W has continuosly improved the pistol since the M&P was introduced years ago. I flocked to the M&P after shooting several hundreds of rounds through rental guns over many months. This is my first M&P, but probably not my last.

Nice.i thought the non existent reset was gunna throw me off also but I shoot it better than my old glock.my follow up shots when double tapping got much better.

Been a wheel gunner forever, 460 XVR, 686, 617, and a Taurus 2 inch SS 357 boat gun. Carry gun was a Sig 1911. But............ I have a new favorite I love my new S&W M&P 40C. I love the way it fits my hand, It has never failed to go bang, and I can put rounds into a 4 inch circle at 15 yards all day. What else can I say?

I just put CT laser grips on it and the love affair is getting stronger.

I`ve had 4 but people keep buying them from me so I'm down to 2 now...I've had Glocks and my M&P manages recoil far better than my Glocks did and that`s a big plus for me... It translates into about 20% better shooting...For the money there's nothing that beats the M&P

You're right...I'll bet there are few people that are more accurate than the M&P...I know I'm not even close..

I'm with you, llando88, I like my M&P 45C also. I was taught to practice dryfiring and finding the reset to set muscle memory so I don't need to hear a click (who listens for a click when firing real ammo?) or feel it. I know where it is by hours of repetition. It's my EDC, so I take it serious. BTW, it's a nice reset imo, because the trigger stages just right so I don't fire one off accidentally. All the dryfiring lowered my trigger pull so that the trigger job I thought I needed isn't needed now. And the recoil is better than any .45 I have ever shot. Way better than my Witness .40 as well. To me, the M&P 45 compact is the perfect .45. But that's just my two cents worth. I like it so much I will have to end up getting a 9mm compact.

What is the objective in learning to pull trigger as near reset as possible, other than being able to fire rounds as rapidly as possible?

Some SWAT members have explained their need, which I understand, but it seems that accuracy is secondary if firing as rapidly as possible is the objective.

Not off base. Rapid fire is definitely a plus. So are shorter single fire pulls, increasing accuracy.

As an old double action revolver shooter, the trigger on the M&P doesn't affect me at all. The guns are plenty accurate, at least mine are.

When I need a crisp single action pull with a short reset I shoot my 1911.

Makes perfect sense to me. Having carried a Model 10 and a Model 36 for years, I feel the M&P triggers are more than adequate.

I am 100% happy with my 3, M&P's. I have not had any issues like some have posted about. Same goes for my S&W Revolvers.

I transition to the M&P from being a Glock guy for many year's, feels really good in my hand and feels that handles recoil better (had surgery and recoil is a reality for me). I have a pro 4.25 and don't have an issue with reset (can u believe that after shooting Glock for year's) I'm shooting better than ever had in the past, My FS and Shield have not had any issues and that is why they both are in the business of my family's protection.
