“My Top Three” photo thread. (3 Total)

RKmesa stated that he limited his "Top 3" choices to 1961-1980 production. In the 1st post I stated any year, I should have made in clearer. Maybe this thread should be in the other year forums too.

Bill:

If I didn't limit it to the 1961-1980, I could not have limited it to just three.;) I saw that the post was open to all era's, the limits I put on my post were self imposed. Just going through the exercise of thinking of the 1961-1980 era guns helped me to remember many of the great guns of that era that I have in my collection. It also made me think that I need to get a bunch of them out of the safe and into a photo session or two...

Great thread! Thanks for starting it - and to all you who have posted - Thanks for sharing your great guns and great photos!!! Very fun to see your selections. It also makes me glad that most of us have varied interests so that we are not all collecting the same guns.:)

Barkeep, barkeep, I'll take one each of all of the above!

My favorites out of all of these are the nickel Model 25 and the Model 15 snubbie.

Ok, just send me those two and all will be well.

I appreciate everybody sharing their photos.

Well this is my first post here. This thread sadly makes it easy for me as I only have three S&Ws, but when you consider I only have 4 guns I think it says a lot!

First off my everyday carry, I never go anywhere with out this. My beloved 1974-1976 S&W model 60 no-dash pinned. I can shoot this little guy a 2 liters at 50 yards if I steady my hand right. I have roughly 150$ in this.

Second is my favorite shooter, my 1985 S&W HP 28-2 4" I got this from a guy who's father that had passed carried this for 20+ years in a sheriffs department, he said he didn't like revolvers. I could never do that to a families gun, but none the less this will now become one of my future families heirlooms, it's not in the best shape but for 200$ I couldn't complain. Love this revolver, as does my fiancée ;) she only likes S&W revolvers, I got me a keeper!

And for my third I have my 1984 S&W model 29-3 6" barrel. This thing shoots like a dream at long ranges like 200+ yards! and it has become my "Hunting rifle" and woods carry gun, can't believe I traded a plain glock 19 EVEN FOR THIS, I got the revolver a nice holster, hogue grips and 100 rounds of good SHP 240 gr hunting ammo all for just a plain plastic glock! It's also my nightstand gun now as well.

This will be easy for me. I'll go by condition and value. My best N frame is this long barreled nickel 27-2. It's recessed but not pinned.

Next is a K frame and one of my first acquisitions, a 17-3 complete with original box et al;

The final pick is this nice little 631. Picked it up at an auction where it was mislabeled as a 63-1!

To tell you the truth, they may be my best. They're all just too new to be my favorites.

John

Not sure I can choose three favorites.

How about three from the Thirties?

(Older photos. The all now wear period correct grips)

K22 Outdoorsman from 1932/33

38/44 Outdoorsman from about 1935 (with double cockeyed hammer)

Registered Magnum 2269 from 1937

Thought it would be easy to "Choose 3" but the 3 gun limit eliminated 1 frame size ( in this case the J )
Picked a K,L and N for no particular reason except they are not commonly encountered and were easy to get to in the safe .

(L to R) Model 19-7 K comp, 686-5 Mountain Gun, Model 629-2 Mountain Revolver

WOW, thanks to all for the excellent photos of some very fine handguns. I am of course jealous.

19-3 just because 2½ 19s are badass
15 best shooting revolver in my collection
And the ugly duckling my 36. The one i trust my life with.
